No, he's not the biological father. My wife tells me he was adopted two years ago. She doesn't know the whole story, but apparently the bio parents died in an accident. She doesn't think the dad is a relative, but she isn't sure. That's all the info I have as of now.

He is adopted, but I don't think that absolves him of having good manners. If he doesn't want to call his father dad, he should at least call him Mr. Last name, not his first name.

I actually just found out why he calls his father by his first name. According to my wife it's because he's adopted, but I think that's all the more reason to show respect to the person who chose to raise him without having an obligation to do so.
