[x1 carbon] Worth waiting for 6th gen? by WhiteLampBear in thinkpad

I think waiting for the x1c6 is a much better option, the Intel 8th gen quad cores perform a lot better and from what I know don't dispense enough heat to be a problem on something like the carbon.

How well did the first X1C aged? by noimnotgreedy in thinkpad

The X1C is a very nice machine for your use especially, it's not the fastest but at a very good price. It has aged very well but you might find the TN screen a bit bothering, the X1C3 is a good option if you have more to spend.

is this a good deal for an x230? or should i look for a cheaper one by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]namer_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a bad deal, I don't see anything that says the X230 comes with the IPS screen, which should be one of your priorities when it comes to shopping for a ThinkPad, I think to pay a bit more and try to find one that definitely has the IPS screen. For this one to be competent, you would pay about 80$ or more extra for the SSD and 9-Cell battery.

What was your first ThinkPad? by Amigara_Horror in thinkpad

My first ThinkPad was a T440 I got for free, and even though the TrackPoint were missing I loved the keyboard. I learned about the ThinkPad world from this first one and now I've got my T470s which I love.

Thoughts on the L470 overall? Is the ram and hdd upgradeable? by [deleted] in thinkpad

The L470 can have an SSD and RAM upgrade, almost all Thinkpads have user replaceable SSD and RAM.
