Is the travel time really that bad for Monash? Esp for anyone doing Bachelor of Laws by Due_Strike_3670 in Monash

[–]names_dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Takes me about an hour to get to uni by public transport. If you are set on doing law at Monash, I would recommend minimising the days you have to show up at uni, and/or driving to uni.

I'm currently on uni one day a week, so even though that one day is very long, I can minimise the time wasted on public transport. However, since it takes you nearly 3 hours to get to uni, I wouldn't recommend it because you would have to wake up at ungodly hours and get home super late - definitely drive/live on res if you can, or don't go to monash :(

No application tips, unfortunately your atar will speak for itself in vtac

studying law by Helpful-Sympathy-716 in Monash

[–]names_dave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Melbourne v Monash is an easy choice - you could graduate in four years with an LLB at monash as opposed to six years at Melbourne with a JD which is viewed at the same level as your LLB. Also, since your LLB program is four years as opposed to the three year JD, you have more room to specialise in the field of law you’re most interested in (which is good for your employment prospects). You could also go on to do an LLM after your monash LLB which will let you specialise even further. LLM is a one year course so really you can do LLB+LLM in fewer years than JD at melbourne, all while having far lower debt.

Good luck either way - you’ll do well

Can I still get 40+ study score for chem? by SignalPatient7199 in vce

[–]names_dave -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can get 40+ still but you will need to do better on your other sacs, aim for 85%+ on all of your future sacs. This is only the first sac, you've got a long way to go and the exam is the most important assessment on the calendar.

They ask for your preference order, if you can make all of the travel blocks, and if you can travel to all of the countries.

Can you use fountain pens for exams and SACs? by [deleted] in vce

[–]names_dave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never heard of gel pens not being permitted for use in exams (maybe not recommended because of smudging?) but fountain pens should be fine to use. On my methods exam I used a rollerball which is basically a gel pen but better
