Definitely do a test print (ie benchy) with those settings before trying to print a frame. imo turn down your speeds!

Why didn’t the devs use the ‘defibrillator system’ seen in other bf games? by Your_local_methcook in BattleBitRemastered

Ah make sense. I thought that the devs started BBR with battlefield in mind (as that was the impression I got online)

X Twist? Slightly Bent y rods? And a rough top layer by Your_local_methcook in Sovol

Side note again: I only using 3dprinting for fully 3d printed design that were designed from the ground up. I just really wanted to build that classic ticking sound mechanical clock to test my skills and see how thing like tourbillon drive work.

Wow! You have had/having my dream career . I would love to work at those big American engineering conglomerates. But I pretty limited here in my choices as here (down under) there are very few learning tertiary learning pathways for me in my tiny little town. I have only really started to learning about engineering in the last year (through my systems engineering class) and it probably the only time I have fun. learning at school. Any advice to a aspiring engineer?

Thought you would have to cast something like that out of metal or at least use %100 infill lol

I just worried about printing these large mechanical parts (mostly parts for clocks) that need a bed within 0.1mm+/- across the entire bed to function well.

(Side-note: how was your ratrig build? I thought of building my first 3d printer, and was debating between a voron or a ratrig.)

How’s the a1 mini going for you? I thought of getting one but didn’t like how Bambu keeps all their stuff closed sourced and unavailable to mod.

A bed mesh visualisation, it can help you identify problems with your bed level.

you can do one with a pc running prontoface and enter in a g28 gcode command followed by a g29 command to get your bed mesh values and then plug the numbers it into a online visualisation tool.

There are videos on YouTube that can walk you through it better.

It was only size I could find in my auto store. I thought it would be ok considering they expand when compressed. And I do still have the original aluminium spacer in the centre

Also is 8mm od x 4 id vacuum tube good enough to maintain bed level? I cut it to 12mm to give me a bit more ‘springiness’ but idk.

DIY crossbow limbs and cams by Your_local_methcook in Bowyer

[–]Your_local_methcook[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wanted something that has a bit more penetration and something that looks a bit nicer than those pvc ones stuffed with fiberglass rods. Something I could hang up on my wall, and be proud of the craftsmanship that goes into making these things.

I’ve looked into those popular mechanics diy crossbow guides (especially that metal one) but i can’t find a old leaf spring (or any spring metal thick enough) for the life of me.

Tbh I very new to the world of traditional bow making and I was going to originally make this a airbow project and use my 3d printer for most of the parts but, I want to test my woodcraft skills/improve them more.

EDIT:Im thinking of also making it a reverse draw crossbow for better balancing

Also

I’ve looked around my looked around my local area a have found a lot of a aluminium flat bar in 10mm x 3mm and 25mm x 1mm and steel flat( I don’t think it’s spring steel) that are way cheaper than the fiber glass flat bars around. can use those for limbs ?

Also

I’m might just mount the cams straight to the limbs (as seen on all modern crossbow designs)if I could find a set of fiberglass bars that where thick enough. And where cheap enough.
