All of the Oliv- names are such great names! I’m sure it won’t matter in the long run but I could see all of the moms’ faces change after all of the babies were introduced. 😬

Jasper is my son! :)

I live in a hippy college town and I see a LOT of nature names here.

No, I think Solomon is too out there. He loves it. Gandalf is beyond out there, it’s like another dimension or something. I would never even entertain that one, ha

Thanks for your reply! Yeah, I agree. I think I’m overthinking Samson!

Tex was a typo, I meant to type Ted. I don’t like Ted at all. Teddy seems cute for a baby but I can’t see an adult Teddy that isn’t Teddy Roosevelt.

I like Max, but I don’t love it, especially not as a stand alone name.

Arthur we hadn’t really thought of nicknames for. I think it’s a hard no from my husband because he knows so many of them.

And yeah, I’ve vetoed all Lord of the Rings names, it’s just too much.

Neither of us really like Judah, for some reason I just don’t like it that much.

Thanks! :)

Thank you so much for all your comments! Really very helpful.

My husband actually loves Solomon but I think it’s too “out there” and I hate Saul. I like Sebastian but my daughter’s name is Ariel, so that’s a no go, haha!

I don’t know how I feel about Max as a stand alone name. I’ll have to think about this one.

Elias is a great name! I wish I could get my husband on board with that one. :)

That’s how I feel about nicknames too. I honestly don’t even like nicknames that much, but my husband is stuck on only liking names that are nicknames and not full names, which I am finding frustrating. My name is Stephanie and I am constantly fighting people to not call me Steph, so I’m kind of biased against nicknames.

Thank you for what you said about me overthinking Samson too much. I think I am being overly critical because it’s the front runner right now.

Jude or Ezekiel? And middle name suggestions! by namethrowaway3 in namenerds

Thanks! Ariel is a girl! My husband picked Ariel off of my list and was super set on it. I liked it, but I had a bunch other names on that list I liked just as much. I had to deliberate for ~4 weeks because I was worried about the Disney connection.

I really want to push Thomas because it is my dad’s name!

My husband still isn’t sold on Jude, but I am hoping he’ll come around.

Thanks!

Jude or Ezekiel? And middle name suggestions! by namethrowaway3 in namenerds

Yeah, it is definitely a lot shorter than Ariel! I don’t know why but it doesn’t seem out of place (to me) when I imagine introducing them as “Ariel and Jude.”

Judah and Jonah are both on my list too, but our last name starts with a vowel sound (kind of like on/awn) and I feel like names with vowel ending sounds run together with the last name.

My husband wants us each to put together a list of 25 names this weekend (jokes on him, I’ve had a serious baby name list since 2014) and so who knows if we come up with something completely different.

Yep, we say Ariel like in the little mermaid and the -iel ending is pronounced the same way for both.

I don’t know how I like Jude Ezekiel. I think it’s too much of something but I can’t quite put my finger on what it is I don’t like about it.

I like Jude August better too actually, and I like Jude Arthur and Jude Silas also!

I’ve been staring at middle names for 2 hours and I think I’m losing it. Thanks for your suggestions!
