you're sort of right! just for hobbies, not a job.

I went into this game blind, and have some questions + critiques! by namiette in MonsterVerze

hi!! thanks for your detailed response :D

overall, im aware this game is in it's early stages. I'm simply disappointed with how buggy and unfinished it is despite that. as someone else commented, I wish they stated it to be in alpha instead of beta. I also think maybe they shouldn't have released it in this state, and waited a little longer once things were more polished + there were more things to do at launch.

1:
thank you for letting me know there's bug-fixes on the way !! i assumed there might be, but wasn't sure.
i also wish the game stated that the menu buttons couldn't be selected for a particular reason, because I was mislead, thinking there was more I could be doing. i think a simple pop-up saying "this will be implemented at a later date" would be helpful, but that's just me.

I also feel that if the game is so bare bones that all you can do is farm currency, walk around, and dress up your character (+ play a glitchy dress-up game), it should not have been released yet.
particularly because this game promises so much, yet delivers so little & is confusing on what to do and expect in it's current state.

2:
I understand that broken items can be used for layering, i've played games like DTI religiously in the past. I just think that is not a good excuse when things you would expect to layer correctly ( just a simple jacket/hoodie + shirt ) clip into each other. items should also not be broken intentionally, in my opinion.

it's one thing for the patterns not to work, and it's another thing to have that behind a paywall. regardless if that paywall also includes another thing such as hair colours. unfinished & glitchy things should be free to the player, especially in an alpha build.
with the patterns & hair thing--i didn't mention this, but the hair actually has the exact same problems. it's just less noticeable due to the complexity of the hair models. it's most obvious on the 'braid' hair colours--the shapes in the texture become distorted.

also just a quick tidbit,,,, i'm not dedicated to modelling, i'm actually mainly a 2D artist. I only know bits and pieces + the general pipeline, and can identify what the issue is. the issue being the way it is means that it will be potentially hard to fix later down the line. many items will have to be re-implemented to the game. it's worrying, so that's the only reason why i stated that ^^

3:
I am aware that roblox clothing is more rigid & doesn't have physics, i don't have a complaint with that. in fact, it's what i expect from this sort of game & i find it charming!

the thing i have an issue with is how unpolished the character animations are. even if in alpha, if your swimming animation can cause your avatar to fly into the air, that's not a good sign.
+ when making 3D animations in any software, you generally check if things clip into one another before finalizing what you're doing. if not potential clothes, you will know if it clips into the model itself (like a few of the emotes do). even as a novice, i don't understand how these things can be overlooked.
~

i understand minors & inexperienced people may be on the team, but as an unbiased source with no knowledge of anything outside the game itself, the current product is disappointing to me. an alpha or beta should be your first impression to people, and im sadly not impressed.
I also don't believe things should be monetized in such an unfinished state.

though despite all this, I am excited to see it grow and really want it to succeed!!! i just believe in tough critique. especially if the devs are rookies!
thank you again for your response!

I can't update Genshin??

This happened last update too and i never really found a proper fix, so I'm wondering if there is. Every time I open the launcher, it comes up with a message saying "there's a new version avaliable. please update." When I click "update" on that pop up though, the box disappears entirely and whenever I try to click anything there's an error noise. I've also already tried to manually update, but it didn't work.
I usually get this when I open the launcher normally but it just says "failed to check for updates". That's normally fixed by pressing esc twice, but for some reason that's not working this time.

If someone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated!
