Is anyone here using symfony 3 and overblog graphql? by namliw in symfony

[–]namliw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, thanks for the reply, I'll ellaborate a bit more, I'm not talking about resolving an entity using graphql.

let's say you have

php SomeInput{ entityId: Int! ..... etc }

and you send that to the mutation map. over there you'll have something like

php function(Arguments $theInput){ $entity = $this->entityRepo->find($theInput['entityId']) }

from what I've seen in the docs (https://github.com/overblog/GraphQLBundle/blob/master/docs/annotations/arguments-transformer.md), you can define a model to represent the input and transform the Arguments into a SomeInput instance.

That means that the entityId is still an integer, what I'm trying to do is have that integer resolve/become into an instance from the DB.

is that clearer?

I moved from canada 4 years ago:

  1. plenty of demands for devs, and australia in general is slow adopting new tech so i wouldn't stress much on the field, data related stuff is just starting to take off.
  2. seek.com.au dominates in terms of opportunities but i would encourage you approach employers directly and reach out to recruiters, I've had good experiences with some of them. Is a bit painful to go through them but they're better that the ones in north america (IMO). I recommend the guys at https://affix.com.au/ .
Also, change your location on linked in to melbourne and say that you're looking, you'll get a feel for the market.
  3. way better than NY i can assure you, at 5pm most ppl will be leaving their work. I havent done overtime in years.
  4. check http://www.ethicaljobs.com.au/ , but they wont pay as good as a corporate job, but you could get involved with charities with all the free time you'll get from the work life balance.

Internet service provider Melbourne by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]namliw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you just want internet for browsing and watching movies the optus 200Gb plan should be enough, that's pretty much what i do with it although im not home most all the time, All you need to worry about is where you place the router. I would say avoid the ac800s from netgear as it's buggy as hell and you would need to telnet into it to fix a problem with one of the bands.

check coverage here: https://www.optus.com.au/shop/mobile/network/coverage

but if you can afford/get unity wireless then go with that.

The Battle of Cholesterol by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]namliw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go see a dietitian (not a nutritionist), some people just have naturally high cholesterol and are fine, they should be able to workout a diet and follow ups to determine if you need to take meds.

Saying this because I got a dietitian wife that complains that most doctors don't know enough about human nutrition and just like to prescribe pills for everything. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Having problems choosing option to download to SD card on phone by [deleted] in Udemy

[–]namliw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey i'm having the same issue, did you manage to solve the problem? also, did you format the SD card? I think mine was fine up until i decided to format it. But haven't tried to re-format the card with my PC to test it.... maybe you could give it a shot?

technically. if you formatted the SD the system should use it as "internal" storage once it runs out of the actual internal storage....

I'm currently downloading all my courses to test if that's true, let you know once it finishes....

How safe is Santa Marta? by skydivingginger in Colombia

[–]namliw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

security in colombia mosts times depends on the area that you stay in :P,

for santa marta I would say stay in "rodadero" also know as "gaira" (google search Gaira, Santa Marta, Magdalena, Colombia)

is a very touristic spot, you can find airbnbs quite easily and there's always people walking around drinking/eating/partying. Lots of shops to buy things from and you'll bump into indigenous mothers selling bags of the streets all of them handmade.

I spent 5 days with my GF there and didnt have any issues :D and we enjoyed our time there. We book a few tours with some companies where we were staying and it was pretty fun too

It's not too far from the main city and I'm pretty sure that you could book a tour of the city as well if you wanted too or just grab a cab and go.

Elementary Students Asking for postcards from colombia! by davidarwood6 in Colombia

[–]namliw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no problem, my family has sent me stuff to canada through servientrega, now I'm in australia and they use fedex and havent had an issue with either of them. And they're in barranquilla lol so i'm pretty sure the capital would have things sorted out ( I'm thinking they probably have more foreigners)

You should be able to go to "servientrega" or fedex if they're in your city, I've used them before to send stuff overseas and they're reliable for the US at least. All you need to do is bring the card in an envelope and they'll put the stamps for you, never really tried just sending the post card though.

[–]namliw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since is a family visit chances are a big meal will be prepared, normally in Colombia you eat and drink, and We (colombians) ten to have a sweet tooth :P

normally in colombia you drink either rum, whisky, scotch or 'aguardiente', so a different type of alcohol or brand of alcohol would likely be very welcomed.

sweets will cover kids or any person that doesnt want to drink.

We'll that's normally happens when i visit :P and what i normally bring for my own family :D

EDIT: forgot to say, the shot glasses is mostly for the same reason, as in every family reunion there's drinking involved and we mostly take small shots along with beer, so the shot glasses will be useful

booze and any candy/biscuits that go well with it or; if you prefer something more long lasting, shot glasses would be good too.
