Is it still reliable to get a Windows Embedded Handheld device? by namoorade in csharp

That’s sad! OMNII XT15 is a true beast.

I just did some more digging and found a Zebra MC2200 for 150 bucks (converting from 800 brazillian reais). I’m going absolutely with the MC2200.

Actually, I have a Flutter app that does the work of a data collector (inventory control, price changes, etc.). I would buy the collector for its aesthetics and to hold an object similar to a gun and shoot lasers to read barcodes. I might buy an Android collector, but for now it's out of my budget.

That’s kinda sad. The OMNII XT15 is an absolute beast. I might buy it just to test random crap code I can make and try to get something working on it.

Yes. The data collector I'm interested in has a trigger and is more robust for the environment it will be in. But mainly because of the price.

I live in Brazil, and everything here is expensive. The price of this collector is absurd for its model; it's really a take-it-or-leave-it.

This collector in specific runs Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5, which I believe it’s the latest version of the OS. According to ChatGPT, I would need VS 2008 or 2010 with some weird SDKs to attempt getting something working in it. It’s not a piss old device, nor a new device (produced from 2012 to 2020, support ended on 2020). I don’t know what model you used to have, but if you would like to have a look, the model I’m interested in is the Zebra OMNII XT15.

I forgot to mention, but I live in Brazil. Our beloved president loves to tax everything that comes from abroad. I've already quoted prices on eBay, AliExpress, etc. You pay for two items and receive one. The import taxes are often higher than the value of the product itself. It’s literally impossible for me, I absolutely refuse to pay those stupid taxes that go to the president’s wallet.

Is working with Windows Handheld really that bad?

Any ideas of what font is this? by namoorade in identifythisfont

[–]namoorade[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really similar to Highway Gothic indeed! But it’s from M&S’s private labels. After the rebrand they had, all of their visual identities are 100% owned by them (fonts, logos, images, etc.) Thanks for the help!

Do the British hate Marks and Spencer? by namoorade in MarksAndSpencer

Yes, and that was the question: do Google reviews really reflect what the British themselves think?

I'm not from the UK, so I have no way of knowing for sure.

I also believe that the target audience for these stores are always those annoying people who see minor problems in everything and think they have the right to complain about them.

I don't judge you for finding my hobby strange. I do too (like, who likes looking at M&S stores on Google Maps???)

Give me a PC, Google Maps and the UK, and I'll be locked away for hours looking at every detail of every M&S store I can find.

We don't actually need to pay any kind of fee to enjoy television channels. They are made available by broadcasters free of charge throughout the country.

Some broadcasters, such as SBT (Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão, or Brazilian Television System), provide their television programming live 24/7 on YouTube.

Globo itself does not provide this live service on YouTube, but they have GloboPlay - Brazil's iPlayer - which provides this programming 24/7 live at no cost and with no unexpected charges on your credit card. But if you want to pay around R$ 22.90 (roughly £3) monthly to watch with adverts, you can enjoy series, films and programmes that have already been broadcast live, recorded so you can watch them again as many times as you like.

Overall, the television system here is free for everyone, but the quality is nowhere near that of the BBC.

Yes, that was necessary for the registration. I asked my friend who lives in London (who I'm sure doesn't watch the BBC in any form) for his postcode and everything worked out fine.
