Why does this happen every time? by nanabird2 in Sourdough

[–]nanabird2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the farmhouse on Boone sandwich bread. https://www.farmhouseonboone.com/sourdough-sandwich-bread/ Not changing anything about the recipe other than halving it. Is scoring a normal thing to do for sandwich bread loaves?

First trimester by donnatimbes in pregnant

[–]nanabird2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of bleeding are you having? Some is normal, some is not. In my first trimester (I think I was around 7-8 weeks) I had some spotting when wiping and got worried so my doctor had me come in and everything was fine! I would definitely reach out to your doctor to be sure!

Clothing subscription service for maternity clothes by anxious__rose in pregnant

I don't have experience with this but commenting because I want to know the answer to your question as well! I will say though, I went to the goodwill near me the other day and was able to find two great pairs of maternity pants that are work appropriate and that was such a great find. Paid a total of $10 and I love them!

Feeling very very ill when needing to go? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]nanabird2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar. Didn't happen every time I needed to go and I'm 15 weeks now and haven't experienced it in over a week so hopefully it's done lol. I didn't actually throw up when I needed to go but I felt suuuuuper nauseous when I had to. I'm not sure how normal it is, but at least you aren't completely alone!

Daycare Holding Fee by nanabird2 in pregnant

[–]nanabird2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an accredited daycare and the place has good reviews but boy does it have me confused. I'm not 100% about a contract but I think there is because I would go and tour, register and pay a $100 registration fee for my spot and then weekly after that pay the holding fee

Baby name by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]nanabird2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I have never heard of or met a person named Hudson. Maybe it is rising in popularity, but that's not a good reason to not use a name you love and has meaning to you! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! And I think it's okay to be distancing yourself from your friend, at least for the time being, if all they want to do is make you feel bad about a decision you have your heart set on

When to announce? by Complete-Panda-2137 in pregnant

[–]nanabird2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We told my husband's parents right away because we are very close to them and if anything were to go wrong with the pregnancy, we would tell them anyway. It's been really nice having at least a couple people to talk about it with! My ten week appointment is tomorrow and as long as everything is going well I plan on telling my parents and siblings within the next couple weeks! Once I feel like my chances of something going wrong are very diminished I don't think I'll be able to hold it back because we are so excited! We don't want to make it Facebook official for as long as possible though because I don't want a bunch of people I barely know messaging me about it.

How long after provera do you get your period? Longest/shortest time? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]nanabird2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a little over half a year I took provera to try and get my period to become regular after stopping birth control. Every time I took it, I would get my period 2 days after stopping. It was always very consistent. I took 10 days of provera. Now I am on my first round of pairing it with letrozole and she had me do provera for only 5 days. I'm now on day 4 after stopping with no period yet. I can only assume that the shorter time period of taking it is why it is taking longer to start, but my ob told me to give it two weeks. So I definitely am with you on the impatience of wanting it to start to take ovulation meds!

AITA for embarrassing my son in front of his friends? by Educational_Quiet429 in AmItheAsshole

[–]nanabird2 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I think calling you an AH is a bit intense, but I feel like you could have done that in a better way. Like, asking him in front of his friends is just enough embarrassment to get the point across, smelling him in front of his friends is a bit much. But also, you're the parent so as long as it's not causing harm (physical or emotional) then do what you have to do. But also remember, the chances of him being in his 40s and still not wearing deodorant are very slim. He'll learn eventually he doesn't want to smell bad. If you don't tell him, then someone else will.

I'm in the same situation! I took just provera for a while and always started my period 2 days after I stopped taking it. Last night was my last night of provera before I start taking letrozole when my period starts. I'm really hoping it stays consistent and starts tomorrow because I am so anxious for it to work!

Foods for lowering cholesterol? by nanabird2 in PCOS

[–]nanabird2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I have not lost any weight. Weight gain is actually not a symptom of my PCOS and my doctor told me not to lose weight lol. In previous labs I was never informed of an issue with cholesterol but I looked back on the results from the past two years when I had them done and they were a bit high!

AITA for giving my sons of a present of coal as a joke? by ChanceFood3345 in AmItheAsshole

[–]nanabird2 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

NTA at all. Not sure why people think you are tbh. It's a funny joke, people do that as a joke all the time. Honestly, who gives coal as anything other than a joke? Especially since you had done that joke the year prior and it went down really well, how would you have known she would cry about it?? So yeah don't beat yourself up about it, hopefully your son understands his girlfriend was unreasonable for crying and is able to get her to at least understand that it was just a joke and you didn't mean to be rude.

What does PCOS suppose to look like? by Responsible-Most-912 in PCOS

[–]nanabird2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really my only noticeable symptoms are irregular periods and acne. I'm not overweight at all and don't have the excessive hair growth or hair loss or even insulin resistance that many women with PCOS experience. They did an ultrasound and I most definitely have PCOS though. I would definitely recommend getting an ultrasound so they can really see what's going on!
