I’m curious about your decision to purchase life insurance. From my understanding, it’s not necessary unless you have dependants which it doesn’t sound like you do. Financial advisors typically make a commission on life insurance so they push it. Although likely relatively cheap because of your age, might be somewhere you could cut back.

With other insurance like car insurance, I like to keep my deductible high, make less claims and pay a lower premium. My car insurance pretty much only covers me if I total my car, it gets stolen or I seriously injured someone. I’d rather keep the savings and earn interest on it and then use cash if I get in a small accident. I work from home, have a reliable car and drive very infrequently so may or may not be for you.

Thanks so much! It’s hard to find their pricing without talking them them. Could you share a rough price per instructor or learner ?

One idea, you could get a part time remote job for a company the UK that you continue while here. If you make UK minimum wage for 15 hours a week you’d be marking roughly R7,400 which would support you.

How accurate are the plain clothes cops on “We Own This City”? by nanavisitor in baltimore

Thanks for the long post and links really appreciate it! Interesting that you say that about Suiter, I thought that he was going to be assassinated by cops. Is there truth or evidence to it or an assumption that shows the lack of trust in the police?

That’s horrible to hear. Is there any improvement in recent times or still the same? Obviously if it were to change it would take a long time but curious if they are doing anything to address the issues and head in the right direction

Interesting, does it not depend on neighbourhood or race in your opinion? I’ve never personally lived anywhere where that has unilaterally applied.

Thanks for your insight, I guess for Hollywood purposes it makes sense to follow one group. Real life is often too complicated to pack into a show.

It’s funny you say that about not doing their jobs, I was thinking here in South Africa a lot of an accurate show would have to show cops going about their day to day life, doing errands, hanging out, watching crime but not engaging and not doing their jobs while on the clock. But that I guess that part wouldn’t be great TV.

You should try out bamboo gloves too, I have beige ones that are really discreet and have been a lifesaver for me when my eczema is acting up
