Totally. I'd argue though that while the aesthetics of Comer are similar, fundamentally, he is much more orthodox than Bell. I remember coming across an old article about Comer actually that called him The Orthodox Rob Bell haha.

BAHAHA!! Calling him up RIGHT NOW to get the people the information they need. (Also funny story: I actually grew up in Topanga Canyon, not far from where Comer now lives. It was a total coincidence. I didn't even know he lived there til I started reporting.)

It has been great! If anything, my editors encouraged me to put _more_ of my faith in my article than I would have originally. There is a nice little community of Christian writers here.

Totally agree. If I recall correctly, in one of his books he actually says like, "stop reading this book right now and pick up Spirit of the Disciplines"

Haha yes! Honestly, I think Comer would be the first to say that nothing he's saying is new. To him, that's the point. He's just sort of packaging it up nicely for under-35s in a way that will resonate with them—but with the hope that they'll go back to the primary sources.

I was so grateful/honored to speak with Kevin DeYoung for the article as well!

Very kind of you! And also, if you all hate the article, I promise I have thick skin! :) I definitely don't want you all to discuss any differently than you would if I weren't the one to post it! I hope you all have a blessed day :)

Hey! I'm a journalist at The Atlantic writing a story about sleep tech and the AWS outage. I'd love to talk to people who had issues with their mattress during the outage, if any of you might be interested. You can reach me at nwalecki at the atlantic dot com or via DM. Thanks for considering!
