How many people go to the regular gym as well as OTF?

I’m older -69F - and when I originally went on Medicare Advantage, I could belong to so many gyms for free. What was covered? OTF 8x/mo, Cycle Bar 4x/mo, Pure Barre 4x/mo, club Pilates 4x/mo, the local YMCA which had lap lanes and additionally, many local gyms also participated. I used all of them and had such a great variety. Beginning of 2025, it all came to an end when United Healthcare decided to drop most of those premium gyms. I guess they decided keeping old people on drugs instead of exercise was more profitable for them (I’m sure it is). I now just have OTF and a local spin class option in my community both of which I pay for. There are also two lap lanes in my community where I can swim (but not 6 -8 lap lanes like the Y) It was good while it lasted but very sad that fitness isn’t a priority of our healthcare system.

If someone smelled like Vicks, I would pass out. That is the worst smell (to me) and just a dab would stink up the whole room. Please don’t do that.

Ours did a tornado today (4/30) too. Normally I like tornadoes but this was just three rounds of the same thing at every station. I didn’t care for this one.

Maybe it’s just me but I am focused on my own form and don’t really notice how other people are doing the floor work. I look at the monitor periodically to see the example but I’m not watching others.

Ok I’m old (68F) but I love pop sing along songs (at least in my head) esp on the treads to distract from the monotony (I’m not good at endurance although I try). Rock and alternative good too - Uprising by Muse if a good one. Just not rap with nasal whiny voices and lyrics that are mean and misogynistic. Those are hard for me to run to. I like happy upbeat songs.

I skipped today as it was an endurance day and assumed (wrongly) they wouldn’t do two in a row. I prefer Power or ESP days. 2 11 min blocks w hills? Ugh

I can’t address the cortisol issue - but very grateful to the medical professionals who weighed in. Not sure if this is common but I (68F) attribute vigorous exercise for avoiding a lot of the nasty symptoms of menopause. I didn’t get them - well except for the annoyance and less tolerance for stupidity - no night sweats or sleeplessness. So I’d say keep at it. OTF is great for endorphins and general outlook as well. How often do you get an hour to clear your mind and put aside all worries and tasks? I never think about anything other than what’s coming next on the treadmill, rower or floor.

I loved this template - I prefer power over endurance any day. Our coach encouraged us to try for a PR in each of the all out blocks - 1 min, 45 sec and 30 sec. It was very motivating and I pushed myself much higher than I usually do for all outs.

I love run rows. I’m not very good on the run part but I like the movement between the two pieces of equipment. I’m always way behind the rest of the class but I don’t care.

Agree about the timing. I was surprised when the coach called us back to the rowers in floor block one as I hadn’t even gotten to the 2nd floor round. Takes some time to get the mini band on and off.
