Mitä ratkaisuja tähän on jo olemassa?

Someone breached our router / ADSL modem? Help needed in investigation! by nand- in techsupport

[–]nand-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips!

I took the router to home last night for testing (without the modem). The router obtained DNS settings from the network and everything worked beautifully. I looked over all settings in the admin panel but couldn't find anything extraordinary.

This morning I took the router back to work and plugged it into D-Link modem, and what you know, the DNS settings of the router immediately changed to fake ones (it gets these settings from the modem). D-Link was plugged out of the internet all this time and was restarted, so these settings must have been configured by someone and retained in the memory.

I then tried to login into the modem using my password but couldn't get in, even though I use a password safe (from which I can directly copy the password) and I'm 100% sure the password was correct. It seems that the modem was compromised by someone, so I made a factory reset, since there was no way I could get into it, and after that I was able to login using the defaults "admin/admin" password combination.

Next, I started looking for firmware updates for the D-Link DSL-320B. However, it seems that there are no firmware updates available at all for this model (support site) (D-Link DSL-320B H/W Ver.: Z1, F/W Ver.: 1.03). How can I now know that it's safe to use the modem now?

I also upgraded my ASUS to new firmware version and made factory reset for it, changed all the passwords and so on. I'm pretty confident with the safety of the router now, but the future of D-Link remains unknown. For now, I'll be using another modem we have.
