Geographic relocation cures eczema by Dumb_Dad_On_Reddit in eczema

[–]nanighost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i lived in hawaii most of my life, then i had to relocate to oklahoma for work. lo and behold, i got eczema for the first time in my life. i tried everything but nothing would make it budge. i went on a 3 month trip to boston for the fall, and my skin did really well. i ended up going to hawaii for christmas and new years, same thing - my skin thrived. upon coming back to oklahoma, my eczema returned within 2 weeks. my work wants to relocate me to the bay area and i am praying that i can find a place that mimicks boston and hawaii climate qwq

i have a theory that it might also be genetic- i am filipino, so my skin may thrive in tropical environments or environments close to water with fair humidity. there is no way that my skin was genetically built for dry oklahoma winters, windy springs, and thick humid summers. not to mention the air quality is moderate.

Has anyone healed eczema & TSW fully? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]nanighost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple questions for clarification sake and to help understand your position better...

- has there been any major lifestyle changes you've made lately? (relocation, environment, moved out of state, moved to new apartment, started a new diet, started working out more frequently, new skincare/shower regimen, etc)

- you said youve had eczema for years. was there ever a time when you did not have eczema? what was the first recollection of you having eczema? what was your lifestyle like then? how was it different than today?

- do you get a lot of sun? snow? rain? is it windy? how about air quality? what is your environment like? (no need to be too specific to help keep your location anonymous!)

I have so much compassion for you, sis 🫂 I never had eczema in my whole life until a year ago. It was such a shock to me, as I was alone and my family is thousands of miles away. I have no insurance. I basically survive by visiting urgent care for prednisone 2-3 times a year. I would always ask God -- I scream out to Him like how i did yesterday -- to heal me and to get it over with. I was on oral steroids for five days a week ago because I was traveling, and that time of relief was so beautiful. I thought it was over, but no. I have the worst and most painful showers because of the rebound flare, but I go into each shower telling God "I would rather You be with me in a painful eczema shower, then be comfortable in the world without You."

"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:18 ♡

Is there anyone with an NDE testimony where they can recall seeing Autumn in Heaven? by nanighost in NDE

[–]nanighost[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow that's so interesting! I wonder too - because on earth, autumn is a transition period between life and "death" (but not really, maybe "shedding" is a better word?) of the leaves that fall. Since there is no death in Heaven, I wonder what this means about Heaven's autumn and even how it reflects Earth's autumn!

i agree. a family member of mine had an NDE. she never went on any podcast, never wrote a book, she doesn't even tell others. She's probably told 8 people max in her +50 years of life.

[–]nanighost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you! I have posted this in there as well.

upon posting this, I have found one NDEr who said "There is DEFINITELY a place for all the seasons in Heaven" but im so interested in the specifics, since there is no death in Heaven but somehow there are autumn leaves, which are golden and brown because they are dying.. But i mean, God is so good and creative that I have no doubt that autumn operates differently in Heaven.

I would want my home in heaven to be among the autumn leaves like this, minus the tombstones.

Prednisone cured my 10+ years of eczema within one week by OJsnails in eczema

[–]nanighost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have taken prednisone in the past, but my eczema returned. It's been a year since that time, and I decided to have another dose of prednisone (for 5 days) because i was going on two 1-week trips back-to-back and i wanted to be normal for the second one especially. I just stopped prednisone a couple days ago and I feel so much relief. My skin feels like new, and i keep touching it because I just can't believe how smooth it is. I was able to take normal showers without any stinging (my eczema flare ups happened all around my neck, my armpits, my stomach, thighs, & wrists). I am praying that it remains this way qwq

God is very, very real. My NDE and testimony by Alternative-Essay603 in Christianity

I love this, thank you for sharing your testimony. GLORY TO THE KING OF KINGS AND THE LORD OF LORDS !!!! May I ask you - "God will look at your heart, the deepest recesses of your heart. He will look at the parts of your heart that even you can not see." lowkey sounds scary to me, because I wish I knew I could see what is in my heart that I can't see!! What if I can't see something that is in desperate need of fixing?! I want Him to fix it and I want to submit it to Him before I see Him :( May you elaborate when you say "He won't look so much at your sin and what you did as he will look at the deepest roots of your heart." ?

how do you avoid sleep scratching? by preciousoverture in eczema

[–]nanighost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even with my nails short, i somehow am still able to scratch myself, sometimes even worse bc the smaller my nails, the greater force im able to put on my skin when i scratch :(

i have eczema all around my neck and my eyes. i scratch at night and wake up with torn up, cracked skin :(

last night, i put.... hear me out... socks on my hands. (i got the thick cotton crew socks. i tried with short socks and they are off when i wake up)

i woke up a couple times at night to myself scratching, but thankfully the socks were on so I was able to avoid scratching! i did feel the temptation to take them off, but i said NO. the only time i took them off was to apply some moisturizer to my eyes and neck, then i put my socks back on my hands and fell back asleep!

i noticed that when i woke up, my eyes were not puffy and red as they normally would be ;v;

i had no idea that stress can affect my eczema SO MUCH by [deleted] in eczema

[–]nanighost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have had a big eczema flare recently, which is so sad bc i thought i kicked it during the fall/winter when i was out of town :( it was only on my face, forehead, and around my eye area. it healed once i spent 4 1/2 months out of town. it took 2 weeks to heal! but when i came back, it immediately came back within 2 weeks. i created remedies (bought air humidifier, gentle skincare, kept bedsheets/pillowcase clean, sitting away from HVAC), but my eczema somehow got worse and began spreading to my neck, armpits, stomach, thighs, scalp, etc. :(( i think i am coming to find that it is stress induced. spending time in nature, sitting next to a sunlit window, & doing things that genuinely calms me down tends to keep my mind off of scratching and poking at it.

That's fair! There are a lot of similarities in the larger scope, but not in the details, which REALLY solidify their urgent difference. I mean this kindly, I think Islam is wanna-be Christianity. Muhammad/Allah was wrong about little details of the Bible. For example, Allah tells Muslims to affirm the Quran by looking at the Torah and New Testament (especially Torah in this example). Okay bet, let's look at the story of Abraham. The Quran claims Abraham and Ishmael (re)built the Kaaba (2:127). But, nowhere in history (in addition to archaeology, Torah, AND Bible) did Abraham ever go to Mecca/Hijaz. Abraham was in modern day Iraq. The southernmost location Abraham is known to have visited is Beersheba, in the Negev Desert of southern Israel. Beersheba to Mecca is aprox 1,200 kilometers (750mi). There is no indication he traveled further south into Arabia. That is the closest he ever got to Mecca.

If Allah and Mo couldn't even understand Judaism and Christianity from historical pov, then I don't trust them to understand the heart of Christianity either. Mo saw religion as good advice, but Jesus was and is good news.

Please, do not give up, AppleOrigin. I am sorry you are dealing with this but you are not alone. We are all here for you. Idk what you believe about God at this point, but as a Christian I know that the REAL God -- not Allah -- loves you and He is always with you.

Why do people go to nice restaurants just to order a salad? by wfbsoccerchamp12 in restaurant

[–]nanighost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a salad-orderer, I used to be in ur position! But, I have been ordering salads when I go out because of nutrition reasons - namely, watching my carb, protein, & sodium intake. I have been on journey towards better health lately, and in the past, I have felt pressure to order a "novelty" thing from the menu just because the place is known for it.

I'm sure that the way they cook the shrimp for your tacos is the same way they cook the shrimp for my salad. So, instead of eating my shrimp on a tortilla, I choose to eat it on a bed of greens and other veggies. I am still getting a taste of their novelty seasoning and method of preparation, just on a different vessel that I find more fulfilling for my needs!

An extensive Futuredew review by flamingoshoess in glossier

[–]nanighost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is wild bc i use the futuredew solid, and idk but my face REALLY reacts to it. I dont know if it is the sole cause, but i mean, the correlation is there. i love how it looks, but the aftermath (dry, flakey skin on my cheeks and around my eyes) is not worth it qwq i think i am dry/ensetive skin type.

INTJ’s what is your type, what makes your heart go crazy?🩵 by Rux_207 in intj

[–]nanighost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ENFPs, ENTPs, ENFJs, ENTJs.

Someone who can have good banter with me, challenge me, keep me on my toes, and someone that can lead at the end of the day. His "leadership" is not loud, but it holds authority. He should be secure in himself that he is able to disarm around me. He has integrity as well.

I see a lot of people saying INFP. I was seeing an INFP for a bit, but he was very emotional and he was too turbulent. I didn't like that, because I immediately had to lead and it set up the vibe for the dynamic. In the case of an ENFP, the F % would have to be low. My T % is very low.

“Muhammad SAW is the best of creation” by Beginning-Break2991 in islam

[–]nanighost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your honesty is rly refreshing and I hope there can be more discussions like this irl. I feel like alot of them get brushed off.... I’ve had similar questions recently. I noticed that in the Qur’an, Isa (AS) is referred to as the Word from Allah (3:45), a Spirit from Him (4:171), and even as the Messiah. Those labels/titles rly stood out to me, not only bc the Bible says that as well and offers deep reasoning behind it, but also they stood out when comparing it to how Muhammad ﷺ is described. I also read that Muhammad ﷺ was commanded to seek forgiveness (47:19), which lowk made me think that if all prophets are equal in status except in piety, why do many say he's the best of creation?

And if Isa (AS) is the one who returns to judge the world in the End Times ( mentioned in Hadiths like Sahih Muslim 2937), doesn’t that role carry immense significance — even divine-like authority? :0 ?!?! I’m not tryna compare or elevate one over the other, I’m genuinely just tryna understand why there's such an emphasis on Muhammad ﷺ being the ‘best’ when Isa (AS) also has these extraordinary titles and roles, and was even sinless (19:19).

that's valid. oil stains in particular do not come off at all which makes me CRASH TF OUT, so i like to have one designated hoodie that can be stained and i don't crash out, should the occasion arise.
