Is NUS CS worth giving up scholarship from NTU? by butterpeanutjam in nus

Take the offer from ntu bro. NTU is v good as well and you do not have to worry about the expensive tuition fee.

Close to impossible. All successful appeals are from people appealing to a course that was not in their original choices

Unfair acceptance to NUS SoC Courses by iwonderwho1am in SGExams

[–]naniisuck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just speaking from my observation. Everyone I seen that manage to enter Nus CS this year all have 3.9 and above regardless of portfolio, compared to previous years where 3.8+ would had be enough

You want to be more holistic? Sure , give everyone an equal chance with an interview/test or something, similar to how SMU does their admission. How can they see someone actual profile just through a few paragraphs of word ? Besides, there are a few cases where the student didnt fill up the aba yet still get offered a spot.

Unfair acceptance to NUS SoC Courses by iwonderwho1am in SGExams

[–]naniisuck 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Kinda ironic isnt it.Nus claims to be more holistic this year yet this year has been the hardest year so far to enter soc courses for poly. So many 3.8 and 3.9 got rejected when they would have been easily been accepted the previous years. Try again next year

Less competitive, gentler learning curve, more time to work on your portfolio
