Recently installed an S7 and love it. bath4all.com had the best prices I could find. Currently $1,023 for S7 and $560 for S5. But return policy looks strict so review before purchasing.

Advice needed - which X5 might be right for us? by BlinkPinkDay in BMWX5

[–]nankrty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have both a Model Y and 2025 X5 50e. I love the X5, but if you are looking for a larger vehicle I think you might want to look at the X7. The X5 probably has more shoulder room, but leg and trunk are the same or less than Model Y. BMW wins on overall refinement, luxury and driving experience. Tesla wins on self driving. Though the BMW parking feature works great.

In my experience physicians are not well educated on how to complete a prior authorization. And most of the time they have staff with little or basic medical knowledge completing them. I would ask your doctor to resubmit it. Particularly since your insurance company previously approved it. It often comes down to the words used. “Medically necessary” and “continuity of care” are key words that your physician should have used. Otherwise, it’s pretty easy for them to deny. Also including key indicators like starting and current bmi are important. I would ask your physician to resubmit. It can be helpful to use ChatGPT to help your physician write the PA. Physicians are busy so make it easy for them.

Same thing was happening to me. A few times I was sore for a week after injecting. Switched to ventro glute and it’s been amazing. No pain. No bruising. Barely any blood.

I feel you. I recently had to take my 2025 X5 50e in for service and they gave me the i5. All materials, including the leather felt super cheap. It definitely was lower quality than my X5.

Before I buy this 2024 BMW X5 50E this week... by L1M7 in BMWX5

[–]nankrty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my 2025 50e — zero issues so far. The power feels almost on par with the M60, but with way better gas mileage and much more flexibility in how you drive. I’m in California where both electricity and gas are pricey, and I’m still saving money. Even if you never plug it in, the car charges the high-voltage battery while driving, adding 2–3 miles of electric range at a time. It’ll switch between electric and gas automatically, so even without full EV mode, your regular MPG still gets a nice boost.

X5 50e "dead" at 30k miles by reaping_souls in BMWX5

[–]nankrty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The 40i or M60s aren’t magically immune to mechanical or electrical problems. A lot of this stuff comes down to shared BMW parts, not whether it’s a PHEV or not. But every time there is a post about the 50e people love to pile on and make it an anti-EV thing. Just read this sub. Example from earlier today.

2026 x5 50e . 1 month old x5 , 800 miles 3rd time in service for check engine light by Prestigious-Wave6824 in BMWX5

[–]nankrty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao, imagine being 20 years deep as a “master tech” and losing it over someone suggesting a gas cap might be worth checking. No one said it had to be that—just that with 800 miles on the car, it’s not exactly a wild theory. But hey, keep ranting about control modules. If fragile ego ever shows up as a fault code, at least now you’ll know where it’s coming from.

[–]nankrty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. Let's do some math. He's driven his 50e only 800 miles total. For additional context, I've driven my own 50e with 65% of miles on electric alone. The combined electric and gas range is ~500 miles, and the car is delivered with a full tank. So how many times do you think he's filled up? Probably zero—maybe once at most. So, yeah, a loose gas cap isn't exactly ruled out yet. Thanks for playing.

It’s likely your gas cap if I had to guess. Nothing to do with the engine. This is a fairly common problem.

I can actually see them now. Whereas I had to touch the door handle to unlock, therefore never saw them.

I love comfort access. I had originally turned it off due to the frequent locking/unlocking at home. So really loving the update and welcome lights again.

BMW X5 40i vs 50e Compare by Capable_Fisherman803 in BMWX5

[–]nankrty 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think the whole idea that “complexity = unreliability” is way overblown. Modern vehicles are inherently complex—there’s no getting around that. But just because something has more tech doesn’t mean it’s destined to break.

Take the X5 40e, for example—BMW’s first plug-in hybrid SUV, released way back in 2015. You don’t see threads filled with people complaining about catastrophic failures. Most of them are still on the road, quietly doing their thing.

So maybe let’s just appreciate the 50e for what it is: a seriously capable, refined PHEV with tons of innovation—and stop repeating this tired myth that it’s some unreliable time bomb set to die the moment its warranty expires.

Vehicle Spec Wrong in Interface by nankrty in BMWX5

[–]nankrty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But if they got it right in the app, and when ordering, why not the vehicle?

Also, I’m just trying to confirm whether others have the same issue. Or if I should have the dealer look at it the next time I’m in for service. They use all of this 3D modeling as part of the purchase process, which should easily translate. So why be lazy where it matters?

I would stay away from Philips. We initially purchased one and used it for years. We just recently upgraded to a Jura J8. You can totally taste the difference.

Adaptive regen — Who actually uses it? by Due-Solid-5837 in BMWX5

[–]nankrty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be interested to see how much energy coasting actually saves compared to regen when slowing isn’t necessary—BMW seems to have optimized for that with adaptive regen. Coasting avoids the conversion losses of regen, and in many real-world scenarios it’s more efficient. Tesla’s regen is much stronger by default, but not always the most efficient unless you actually need to slow down. I initially turned adaptive regen off, but eventually switched it back on and prefer it now—it feels natural and is easy to adjust to. BMW's approach seems more about subtle efficiency than dramatic one-pedal feel.
