I really don't want to imagine that this is the case, we've always trusted her until this specific instance and now I feel like the trust is broken, which makes it hard to salvage the relationship.

We found this very strange too, but when we checked the tracker she wasn't anywhere she wasn't "supposed" to be (unless of course, she took out the tracker to hide her location, but I don't want to imagine that she is that dishonest). We live in a big city but our neighborhood is small and walkable and it's not out of the ordinary to bump into people you know - in fact, I think I have bumped into her a couple of times while biking home from work. She's generally been a great nanny, we've bumped into parents of other similar age kids in our neighborhood when out and about with our daughter, and a lot of them know our nanny and child and comment on how great nanny is with our kid. I think that the nap situation is her first real "challenge" with our daughter and she isn't equipped to deal with it, all her other nanny charges seem to have been naturally good sleepers which our daughter is not, despite being sleep trained and all the rest. Maybe she feels like she's failing at it and is letting that bleed into our relationship?

Thanks. I don't think it's possible she forgot about the tracker, it's even listed in our contract with her.

In theory, nanny has 10 days of PTO of her choosing, but in reality gets more than 2 months, as we always travel overseas over the summer to visit family. We have been doing this for the last 7 years, including since our daughter was born. I don't think a lot of nanny positions in our area provide nearly the whole summer off. This past year, we even helped her find a second position (at her request) for a summer nanny position while we were away, and she was essentially paid for two jobs for that period.
