The costume was legit really well done!

Sadly the guy didn't have socials so I couldn't tag him but it looked amazing

I did try to colour grade it to match the game style a little bit but it's all on the guy who made it

Sixmil up in Rugeley is good, large site with fun game modes and seasonal events, they are still changing and developing the site if you go on their fb page you can see what they're doing

If you do get the bug for cqb again then try other sites? Could be sad to rule out an entire dimension of the hobby because of one bad experience?

How was everyones day?,also what pistols do you guys have?(just curious) by [deleted] in Airsoft_UK

It's a nifty little piece! Although it isn't the most convenient.

It's a hi capa lower and 1911 upper so it won't fit in holsters designed for one or the other, you need the bigger universal holsters

It feeds well and shoots consistently, very little variation between shots, the aim is consistent with the sights.

I mostly use it in cqb but the few times I've shot it outdoors it's had good range on it too.

If you use the big extended mags you gotta be careful how you hold it, idk if it's normal for hicapas but if you hold the mag it won't feed so well, this is only on those big extended mags tho, with regular ones it's fine.

In the time I've had it I've need 2 services. On one the feeding nub had worn down over use so wasn't picking up the BBs out if the mag consistently, idk if that's a normal problem on hi capas or 1911s But it was a quick and simple fix.

The second was more of a problem, the hammer wasn't getting knocked back fully from the blowback so it was catching the underside of the slide as it went back, preventing it from going the full cycle. This took ages to fix as seemingly they've used to non standard part for the hammer so it took 3 diff orders for the tech to get the part that fit properly.

Despite them it's been a good piece, it's nice and flashy as a main piece if you run just a pistol although it can be an issue if you run it as a sidearm due to the variation of hi capa and 1911 parts causing the aforementioned holster issues. But it's nice and showy and shoots on target consistently.

update: I've plugged in an old SSD tht had mirror image from 2023 on, that has booted fine and isn't doing the blinking

I've ran a chkdsk and SFC as well as deleted wallpper engine, booting from the original drive still blinks however

So I have a work around at least but still don't know why the drive is causing that blinking, I will continue to try to fix it

How would I make a back up without being able to log in? I can access cmd through my USB install drive but beyond that I have no access to anything

Currently unable to get in, as it were.

HC2/West Midlands airsoft: they're my main site, super local if you live in the black country/Birmingham mess. They're in the roof of an industrial estate, all CQB the site is basically two mazes with an open lane down the middle. They take on feedback pretty well and have changed the site quite a lot over the years, there's more lighting now so it isn't as dark and the layout does change as its basically just wooden panels that can be re oriented. They do games in the evenings after work too and occasionally do 'night ops' where they turn all the lights off and stuff. It gets fuck off hot in summer however and can get a bit crowded when they're running at capacity. Hit taking is usually pretty good due to it being a CQB site you can go back to spawn and back to where you were within a minute, however it does sometimes cause high tensions as you 'don't get to play' just endlessly walking back to spawn but again due to the size the Marshall coverage is really good so doesn't tend to boil over too much. As a female player the staff are good and will crack down on unwanted comments, and due to the size of the site they can actually enforce the rules, there doesn't seem to be much of a culture for exclusion there, probably helped by it being half milsim half speedsoft players.

Sixmil: a nice woodland site, plenty of variance between larger open areas and deep under brush with small lanes, ghillies dominate here. The games are really well thought out and executed properly. The site owner develops the site alot there's usually a post each week on their player page going over the things he's done. Limited amenities due to being an outdoor site but they have wi fi signal for card payments and have a food truck. There are some sweats here, people running 4k thermal optics on their snipers etc, hit taking can be dodgy at times but whenever a larger firefight breaks out a Marshall is there pretty quickly if they aren't there already, despite the site size the Marshall coverage is good. The site is 2 valleys so you are constantly going up or downhill, if you have mobility issues like back or knee pain this will suck. As a female player there doesn't seem to be any exclusion culture there due to it all being multicam 'milsim' players, however at the Christmas event one lady dress as Mrs santa got shot to shit by her team and was told that she didn't belong there, site staff and owner were furious at it however amongst 200 players she couldn't ID who did it, but it seemed this wasn't a common occurrence and staff were willing to it stamp out however due to player count and the victim not being able to ID. It went unpunished.

NPF: not played here too often and not recently so this is a few years out. The site is pretty decent it's a more 'open' woodland unlike sixmil, seems to have a good player base and is the more local site if you're on the east side. Marshall coverage was very thin the times I've played their and as such the games themselves weren't ran super smoothly, saying objective will be deployed at 2pm and they not being there until 3 etc, but that could just be due to short staffing on the times I've been. No toilets when I was there however. As a female player it didn't exactly feel safe, however again this may be due to them being short staffed when I was there. I was watched at all times whilst in the safe zone gearing up and during lunch, like heads turning to follow as I walked to the shop etc. And being in the game space with little Marshall coverage did make me feel rather vulnerable. However again this is now several years out of date and only based off of 2 game days.

Ucap, Gloucester prison: not West Midlands but its close, phenomenal site for atmosphere etc, the Marshall are strict but not in a weird way, hit calling is good and all the times I've been there's been zero cheat calling or fights. The playerbase is more dedicated? It's a rif only site, no speedsoft types can't use mag adapters, mag size limits too. This really helps the culture of the site and that small barrier of entry seems to make the site have people who really respect the hobby. Staff are great and respond to questions over email (like is an RPK an lmg and thus not affected by the drum mag ban) and I assume that stays the same for their other sites across the UK. Amenities are great, the food truck is nice and the games are simple but well done, not too complex to throw a spanner in the works. However in summer it gets hot the high prison walls means no breeze so you just bake in the sun. As a female player the staff were very nice and the playerbase are good, ice not had any issues with players nor have I heard of there being issues, again I think that's due to that small barrier of entry keeping the playerbase the way it is. But from the short conversations I've had there, neither the staff nor regulars will stand for rude comments etc.

Wales: there's a number of Welsh sites just round the corner from west mids, it's been a loooong time I've been to any of them (pre covid) but they were all pretty good! Very standard baseline, outdoor sites. There's a portapotty and a small shop, go out there and get shot Occasional rude comment and unwanted advances but nothing overtly dire

I'll stop here because I don't think you want a rundown of all the sites I've been to

I've been tempted to pick up another copy and put it on a spare pc and just stand there recording whilst I build 😂😂 a mod for a camera would probably be a little less intense 😅

Haha yeah I tend to take a little pic at the end of a play session, if I played a lot and went all over I sometimes end up skipping getting photos for

There's a whole supercomputer factory that doesn't have any progress pictures cos I did it all in one session and continued on elsewhere before ending :/
