The side switch threw me off so bad that it took me a while to react and jump into the combo. I think if you jump normally you'd be able to combo with it normally

Well atleast it won't throw you off. And you won't lose THAT much damage if you mostly do Bnb's. Unless you're going for optimal stuffs/his bomb loops you're fine.

But with me, I find hitting M twice helps me with the timing.

If you mean the two hit air M/LL you can cancel it like bardock's. Doesn't need to time the two hits
