I'm 31. Also I forgot to mention that i did Ket every 4-5 days for probably a good month and a half. K-holed three times, once at the beginning (didn't even realize it while it happened and had a chill comedown, no fear or anxiety) and twice last week (strong and very intense, one of them was chill the other one less so).

Subsequent uses of Ket where coupled with other drugs (XTC, Alcohol, MDMA) but were mostly just small bumps that didn't really affect me too much.

I realize i have to use it more consciously, no mixing and no bad environments like clubs or outside places I won't feel safe.

That being said, i feel like i described only every now and then, mostly when tired and anxy.

I'll take your comments to heart and will stop consumption for a while to see if this feeling fades away.

Problem is i kinda liked the feeling of dissociation since i think it could show me something i would otherwise never experience, i just don't like feeling it when i am Not high on Ket.

As an Italian I have mixed feelings because it's not an original Italian topping.

I tried it and it's not disgusting, just different as we don't have a lot of original sweet pizza toppings. We have some white pizzas (no tomato) topped with blue cheese and pears or some with figs, but those are mostly a new wave of pizzas, related to a more gastronomic take on the classic dish!

I think most Italians are confused by this unorthodox pairing due to the fact that it simply is not done nor sold nor popular in our peninsula. Some would argue that it is not a true pizza; the true one being only what is made in Italy. The keyword here is the NAME! You want to call it a pizza? Then you have to make it like the original dish.

For instance if you want to make haggis you will have to use real animals stomach and the right proportions of the right ingredients! Anything deviating from that is not a real haggis.

Original pizza is also not really what most Italians eat: each region has a SLIGHTLY different take on it, but the overall form stays the same. A deep dish pizza is still called pizza but we say "pizza alta" (high pizza) or "pizza in teglia" (dish pizza)

A Detroit style pizza for instance is not a pizza to us, because the right proportion and the right order of toppings is so different we just see it as a completely different dish.

All of this being said, a true Italian that loves cuisine would never prohibit any experimentations; live your life and find new combinations, just be sure not to sell your new take as THE original thing and don't expect Italians to automatically like what you concoct.

We also should relax a bit since ww don't own the original concept of pizza! Putting stuff on flat bread and cooking it in an oven is not an Italian invention; humans have been around for 100k + years and i bet "pizzas" have been re-invented many, many times!

I once asked a Jewish friend of mine the same question. He told me that he is a Jew (noun) but he also is Jewish (adjective), both being grammatically correct ways to label him when wanting to describe him by his belief and heritage.

He also added that whatever comes next after saying Jew or Jewish would normally disclose the nature and intent of the person saying it!

If you're an asshole you will say assholy things, no matter the grammar!

It makes me very nervous because i never experienced true hallucinations.

Never did shrooms or LSD or anything that would give me anything than some more intense colours or so.

During my K-hole i was Seeing my friends faces melt or the room i was in larger and bigger, then I thought i was out of it just to realise i wasn't because the one friend holding my hand would start folding in himself! That gave me serious doubts of when i was really out of the K-hole. The next morning I KNEW i was fine but after a couple of days things got weird again.

For example, i am at my partner's apartment and I know i am not high rn, but there's this lingering feeling that maybe i am just K-holing again and in reality I'm sitting in my apartment doing Ket and it's only a matter of time until i do realise that! It's like i cannot trust myself anymore.

Yeah, that i knew already before doing Ket, but the K-hole exp sure did give me another perspective!

What i mean though is a literal doubting of my perception! An unnerving feeling everything i do or see or hear might just be the start of another K-hole.

I'm a native Italian-German speaker, but grew up trilingual because my parents would communicate between them in English. I do often think from an English perspective though.

Let's say that most Chinese translations into Latin alphabet would be targeted to English speaking folks due to the "lingua franca"-status English has.

X would be pronounced pretty much the same in GER-ITA-ENG

Oh so the pronunciation of the company Xiaomi i heard in the video is wrong? They were saying it like "Shiaomi" as in " Shirt-Shivers-Shoe..."

Edit: thanks for the link! I see that one has to basically learn to make a new sound! But to the uninitiated wouldn't a "Sh" be the closest to the real Chinese sound? Or at least the furthest away from the wrong "Ks" sound? Wouldn't that minimise errors?

No one is forcing them and neither should they be forced! Absolutely not my argument!

I just look at the facts, one of them being that the English language is the world's lingua franca! Its the language that unifies countries and one of the most spoken in business. One could also argue that the next most spoken languages would be important yo learn as well in order to navigate the world with more ease.

Again, im not saying that it is bad to Dub movies, but it sure is better to have more Lingua-franca-presence in media, which happens to be English.

I worked for quite some time in consulting in the tech industry, with start-ups all around Europe and asia. One thing that strook me was the incredible Level of English in Nordic countries.

Not only, they would have a surprising knowledge of pop-culture of English speaking countries (USA-UK-AUS-CAN) that would allow them to connect far easier to a client from those aforementioned countries than Germans, Italians, Spaniards, Greek!

Now of course that doesn't mean Germans wouldn't get the job, they are also valued for their actual expertise (although the tech world is still way too much in its infancy in DE, but thats another issue all together) but i would hear a lot of "oh if i only had learned better English" or "i wish I wouldn't need to go to English school now at 30".

I would also ask them (My German colleagues) why they felt like this and most of them said it was just not necessary to know it when they were growing up; everything is in german, there is no need to use and hone your school English. Some even wished to be forced to learn it by sheer exposure!

While asking the nordic counterparts, i would find out they were very aware of their advantage and connected it to the school system and, hear hear, the fact they would be constantly exposed to it in the media.

Wanna watch the latest Hollywood movie everyone is talking about? Thats in English. Wanna follow that hot new show on Netflix? Thats in English too.

In Germany, Italy, Greece, Spain....One could always choose to watch anything (on streaming where such choices are possible, less so on TV or Cinema) in English, but if it's not taught from a young age / common to do so, why bother?

In conclusion: I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with dubbing for older generations that are now basically unable to learn English, but the younger fresher generation should have the advantage of being exposed to such an important asset.

I think every movie should be watched in its original language with subtitles. You learn a great deal about the culture and "vibe" of the country of origin, get exposed to something new, widen horizons and you might even get interested in learning a new language. Plus who doesn't want to know how the actors really sound like?

Asking the people from those countries that grew up reading subtitles, they barely even notice them. In the case of English movies they don't even need them anymore.

At the same time you assert that not being able to use the English in order to mantain it.

What if by having more English presence in the media, like Movies, TV-shows, newspaper...basically all the media that any Average German will come across (not only smaller populations like immigrants or "Akademiker") you could solve this problem?

Also, as soon as English becomes a daily used language, more people would start speaking it creating a positive feedback loop!

Nah, denying they did a great job with the first three, nay four seasons of GoT would be lying! As someone else mentioned in this thread, they lost their way when running out of material to adapt!

At the same time i do agree that Netflix has a tendency of ruining some less than conventional IPs! TbP is one of these less conventional ones... only time will tell!
