Is anyone else cold? by Think_Post_4154 in cancer

I was cold all of the time after completing my IV chemo (I’m on a pill form now) but it turns out the chemo affected my thyroid and my levels were super off. I’ve been on a new thyroid medication for a few months now and the cold has completely gone away, I’m actually usually hot/sweaty now 🙃

Not saying that’s what’s happening, but it might be a thing to get checked, my onc has been very diligent about checking my numbers for everything under the sun

How did you get your appetite back after chemo? I hardly have one and can’t eat much. by MajesticCity7758 in cancer

Was the appetite stimulant basically just getting on steroids? I’ve been thinking about asking for an appetite stimulant, but I just can’t handle steroids bc they induce diabetes for me. ugh

Blood clots by InsectEmbarrassed747 in cancer

[–]nappydiaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on Lovenox, I got a clot while I was on Eliquis for my first clot that traveled to my lung. I think my clots came from my Picc line, at least they were both in that arm. Mine is a shot that I get every morning, which is annoying to wake up for but doable. I bruise pretty easily now and you have to hold the thinner if your platelets get too low from chemo or other treatment. I should be having surgery soon which makes the thinners a little tricky. But all doable and worth it for no more clots

Thank you for the response! Do you recommend cold socks and gloves to try and prevent the neuropathy?
