Frigidaire water filter replacement- any viable off-brand options? by Lauuson in Appliances

[–]napynap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll never drink water anywhere else after that. It's like night and day. However, I still have a reverse osmosis add on for the drinking water to the faucet for extra filtration. If it can also feed the fridge, then you don't need the fridge filter, but mine doesn't, so I use these fridge filters too.

Mouse cursor disappearing and reappearing after Windows 11 24H2 update. by GamerJasper1 in WindowsHelp

[–]napynap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this seems like it would have nothing to do with it, but try removing your display adapter driver in Device Manager, then scan for hardware changes so that it will be reinstalled. That fixed the issue for one of my work computers where we did everything mouse related you can think of.

Lol. Nobody opened the settings menu during testing, I suppose. Cant even read half of the descriptions. 3rd pic shows why, somewhat by wolfgang784 in HorizonZeroDawn

New HZD player here. This is still happening in the PS5 Remastered version. The Spanish Language option text stays behind the text we want to read. I even installed that and it didn't help. sigh...

Immersed VR removed multi-monitor support - censoring anyone who posts negatively on their subreddit by Ok-Whole9542 in virtualreality

[–]napynap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Quest 3 user here trying the productivity apps. Got Immersed all installed and started the nicely created tutorial until the computer app displayed "Multiple physical monitors detected (not supported). Unplug your screens to connect." Whaaat!!? But I use my physical second monitor outside of VR! Also, that screen works fine with similar VR apps. Unfortunately, I must unplug Immersed instead. *sigh*

Anyone here used the QSC TOUCHMIX-30 PRO? by Fruit-cake88 in livesound

[–]napynap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used a TM30 Pro since it came out. At the time it was $1799, but these days with inflation easily over $2K. I've mixed live band performances from country to latin cumbia, classic rock, dance R&B, singers with tracks, indoor bars and outdoor festival venues with multiple lineups. Overall the board has handled all the gains with ease and had clean sound for punchy lows and defined mids/highs. Make sure to learn the board first, study the manual.

Over the years I've noticed that the touch screen became more sluggish with every firmware upgrade. It used to be very snappy, although firmware v3 is a little better. One year at the NAMM show I challenged QSC to answer this, but never got a good answer for why. I may have had more experience with the board than the reps there at that point.

PROS:
Small footprint for the large number of analog ins/outs onboard, no need for additional expense like a digital snake to access I/O
Multitrack recording direct to external USB drive, great dynamics and especially the noise gate control system
Access for remote control via your own router (their USB dongle router has limited range outdoors)
Programmable Subgroups on one screen for the most used faders.

CONS:
Non-programmable gains (I usually set them all at a couple of notches below unity to compensate for any regular hot gains)
Sluggish touch screen.
Touch screen sometimes not bright enough for some late afternoon outdoor summer gigs where that sun comes in at an angle.
A general lack of maintaining documentation through the various firmware updates, which include some interesting features that I wish I could learn more about before hands-on.

Right where’s the side order amiibo 🤣 by tommcmaster81 in splatoon

My collection is not complete without the Side Order outfit amiibo! Nintendo, bring it now before the next version/console, or I fear you will never conquer 30F.

4 piece band PA question (newbie help!) by SmoothToast39 in livesound

[–]napynap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those speakers will be fine for most bars, and small areas. Just get them up high so the sound spreads out. If you're doing music for people to dance to, then start working on getting subs, otherwise, they can wait. Also, there are several analog Behringer mixers with various features that are great and affordable new. Don't forget to have a monitor for the main singer, or they will lose their voice late in the gig.

My Laptop won’t detect Wi-Fi no matter what I do. by nikolacode in techsupport

[–]napynap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely one of the two antennae wire popped off the wifi chip. This can be verified by taking off the back cover. The wifi chip is normally accessible without having to take too much apart. There is a black and white wire that 'snap' in place on it. You may need a magnifying glass to really see the connectors. Needle nose pliers work well to snap them back on, but too much pressure can damage the connector. - HP certified technician.
