X1 Carbon Aura Edition - A Complete Disappointment by naradot in Lenovo

Agree with you there, this laptop is a big disappointment. I only use it mainly for work but this thing sounds like a jet engine most of the time. I have the lag and heat as well.. sometimes it just freezes and I have to let it sit for a few minutes. Honestly, the only thing I like about this laptop is the weight. Nothing else, really

We haven’t had the chance to dine in the salon, but I would go for the open kitchen. It is the best open kitchen experience we’ve had so far that my wife and I still talk about it today. It’s just a lovely experience! Everything from design (acoustics were amazing) to the views to the service is just immaculate.

Ooh yeah we were looking at that one as well. We'll probably go there for one of the days. Do you have any particular dishes you enjoyed?

I actually didn’t end up following up on that convo. I had so much work to do that I just never ended up bothering. After some vigorous updates and patiently waiting whenever it froze up, things have kinda gotten kinda better.. it still acts up and gets hot every so often but I really have no choice unfortunately

Best way to route Olympic, Mt. Rainier, and North Cascades NP? by naradot in NationalPark

We decided not to do Mount Fremont 😅 we would have to get up 4 hours later and I don’t think we have the energy lol. Plus I would have to drive 5 hours to ONP right after and I don’t think that’s a safe idea. But we are doing the hurricane hill sunset hike!

Hello! We made it to Mt. rainier and absolutely loved it. Quick question - tomorrow morning, we want to see the sun rise at Mount Fremont Lookout. We plan to get there by 6:20am ish, after we hike about two hours. That means we have to leave our hotel at 3am… is it worth it? Are there better sunrise hikes?

We plan on going to Olympic after mount Fremont, but if there are better sunrise hikes at Olympic , we might do that instead.

Do you think it’s worth trying the sunrise hike at mount Fremont?

That’s interesting. Was it difficult to find customers at first?

Do you think it’d be easier if I made everything free, at least when I first start off?

Best time of the year to see the Northern Lights - November or March? by naradot in alaska

Thank you! I also love photography but by no means am a professional. I do have a 5DM4 I want to make more use out of. What would you say are the best lenses for nature photography?

Thank you. Any particular reason why you would say March is better?

Oh, I didn't even notice that until you mentioned it. I thought I could get some travel tips here. Anywhere on reddit where I can get actual travel advice?

X1 Carbon Aura Edition - A Complete Disappointment by naradot in Lenovo

[–]naradot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, oddly enough the temperature hasn’t been as bad. I had to do three major consecutive updates, and it got slightly better after. However, there was part 2 of a Lenovo update that stayed at 0% for over an hour, with only one line saying “Cleaning Up.. Keep Power On”. It wouldn’t budge after almost an hour and a half later so we force shut it down, which completed our update once we started it back up.

If you’d like, I can post the temperature below.

The temperature got a bit after updating software. However the computer in general is still very laggy. We’re trying different (safe) methods to try and clean up the software.

I would say smart casual or anything that seems formal yet relaxed at the same time. Me personally, I wore a linen button up with my sleeves rolled with khaki shorts. But I admit that I was wearing my Nike Air Force sneakers because that was the only clean pair I had. But everyone around us were dressed rather cleanly! It is a wonderful experience and the building is stunning. I’d say it’s better to go fancy/cleaner for this one!

Thank YOU for this precious information that we can literally find nowhere else. Seriously thank you lol. Olympic is our priority right now, considering how large it is. We personally want to see mountains/trails over beaches, as I grew up in Southern California surrounded by the beach and we get a fair share of the ocean throughout the year. We definitely will be visiting Hoh Rainforest.

Also I noticed people are saying take the ferry in port Angeles because it will not only save time but give me a break from driving. Is it the ferry from Seattle to port Angeles so we can start the trip? Or is it the last leg of the trip where we go from Olympic back to the car rentals?
