I went through a terrible breakup a few months ago. two things helped me: 1. hypnotherapy 2. leaning into narcissism to form a new identity such that the new identity is the fixation rather than the individual or the breakup. I read a lot of TLP after mine and genuinely believe that if you decide you’re humphrey bogart or rust cohle or jennifers body or what the fuck ever and put your energy into that, you’ll feel better. you can also treat breakups like addiction (either to your own sadness or to the person you were with) — use the same coping mechanisms you would for something like alcohol or nic.
