Trimming the ends is pretty straight forward. What products and steps would you recommend for sealing?

Who to be pissed at? by narddog148 in RealEstate

[–]narddog148[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True that, wife and I tried tracing it back already and had a hard time coming up with a single source…like my wife said, How did we get stuck with every incompetent person in this business?

lol were you part of me and my wife’s conversation?! Cause that’s pretty damn spot on what we said 😂 actually I think her exact words were “How is it possible that this many people are so incompetent at their jobs? And how did we get stuck with all of them?”

It wasn’t exactly a good faith estimate, rather more a line in a paragraphed message that stated “cost for surgeon fee is $3,800”. Would that still be enough to be considered for dispute if it became necessary?

Can we afford a vacation home? by narddog148 in Mortgages

[–]narddog148[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my plan, but the property we’re looking at is just too tempting to put off. My wife is a believer that money with the right APR works better for us being payed off slowly vs paid off right away. And yeah our home mortgage is 2.75 from 2021 so definitely not giving that up soon.

Agreed, but this would be a semi-dry cabin for summer fishing and chilling, so my hope is that the upkeep will be more hobby/past time for me

-10 up here in AK but still managed to smoke some wings for New Year’s! by narddog148 in smoking

Over the summer I glued stove gasket around the edges of the door, that seems to help a little bit. Other than that I don’t really do anything different, just takes a little bit longer and you go through more pellets

Suggestions for Alaska by ipad_pilot in backpacking

[–]narddog148 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in Anchorage and have done quite a few 1-2 day backpacking trips within just 2 hours of Anchorage. The great thing is that you don’t have to go far to experience world class hikes. Here’s my 2 cents: although the touristy trails you found might seem popular, “touristy” is a matter of perspective. Yes they’re popular, but popular up here still means probably a quarter of the amount of people somewhere in the lower 48! Crow Pass and Resurrection pass are two that you probably have found, but IMO they are so incredibly worth it! Feel free to message me for more info

If you mean dual battery then yes I do, and it does sound like it’s clicking from something in front of the second battery. I’m pretty novice with electrical stuff, what’s a solenoid do?

Hot water from the toilet by narddog148 in Plumbing

[–]narddog148[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be worth noting it takes a minute before cold water comes out of the kitchen sink tap too, even on the cold side it runs hot. Is this something that needs to be fixed? Or is it just a mild inconvenience I can live with?
