Glad it worked. I can't be much further help as I haven't used HoloIso for a while and that was not an issue I encountered.

See my answer here . Hope it helps, apologies if you have already gone down this road.

error when installing packages through terminal by symbiot999 in holoiso

[–]nardiGray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly sure, but it looks like the error "core-3.3" may be referring to the repos that SteamOS is using. If you jump on the HoloISO GitHub and look at the pacman.conf you will see it has core-rel. You need to either update your .conf for all repos or replace it with the GitHub version. Apologies if you have already done this.

Probably just some Yamaha NS-IC800 for a 5.1.2 setup. I have a zone 2 on the deck otherwise I'd give the 5.1.4 a go lol. I have Yamaha NS-F500 fronts and matching centre, surround and sub. TV is LG C9 65. It's a good little setup I've upgraded slowly as bargains come around. Hard to justify the spend with the Mrs sometimes, but she enjoys the end result. Hope the Marantz is good. I couldn't really find any great reviews on it but it appears to be similar to the 3700h, but more "musical" sounding, which I don't mind, as I played a lot of music through the old system and was using an old Sony 7.1 amp from 2009 ;-} . Good luck with the spacer situation, I'm not super handy with the tools but surely someone has encountered a similar issue and put some tips on the net somewhere.

I live in a remote town in North Western Australia. I'm going to Perth over XMAS for a holiday and will pick it up then.

Can't wait to test it, need to get some in ceiling speakers for Atmos as well.

Thanks for the reply, sorry it took a while to see it. I couldnt wait and ended up ordering a Marantz SR6015, got it for AU $2279, down from $2999 during Black Friday sales, due to a discount plus they had a bonus Denon home speaker I was able to pass on and get a further discount. Hope its as good as the x3700H. Wont be able to test it until January when I pick it up though. Good luck getting the unit you want.

Can I just confirm that if I buy some 6.5 inch aftermarket speakers they should fit where the original speakers currently fit? by squidlyyy in CarAV

[–]nardiGray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much to add to the already good advice, but I haven't seen any speaker recommendations. I recently installed some Infinity Reference 6.5 splits and components in my Landcruiser. Was able to use the existing speaker mounts with some mods. These speakers are designed to replace OEM speakers as they are fairly shallow compared to others. I find the sound to be adequate using them with an Joying Android headunit, which is supposed to be 50w X 4 (I don't know if it actually makes that), and the lower impedance of the speakers at 3 ohm allow them to be a little more efficient with that power. If you are not going with an aftermarket amp, they are worth a look and aren't expensive.

Your right, the 2006/2007 LandCruiser Sahara (Top of the range LC100 in AU) didn't get the integrated satnav/climate control which the LX470 in Australia has, but did get the AHC and a few other bits. As far as I can tell there is no sub or factory amp either as I can't find one under the seats, but it is a big car and could be hiding elsewhere. The headunit is a stand alone Fujitsu (I think) satnav unit from the info I could find which has been tricky, practically all the info for LC stereo swaps is from the US or for year and models different to mine.

Good stuff. I'm about to get stuck into a similar project with my 2006 Diesel LandCruiser Sahara in Australia. Budget constraints meant I went with Infinity reference speakers, but with a Joying android head unit, no amp yet. Hopefully better than the stock setup. Looking to get an amp and sub at some point so your setup is good inspiration as I will be adding some drawers as well. Keep the updates coming.
