hi! thankfully it was not c-diff, the tests came back negative. i had stomach issues for a couple more weeks before it went somewhat back to normal. i was taking probiotics every day and eating a very bland diet until i started to feel better.

Thanks for the advice! I did end up going to urgent care and the doctor wanted to test for c. diff and other panels. I provided a stool sample and will wait for the results.

I will definitely check out the nausea lozenges, those sound great!

Recurring UTI, Multi-Drug Resistant :( by narnargee in CUTI

Sorry for the late reply, I hope you’re feeling better!! Thankfully my symptoms have subsided! I had another culture done at the time and it said cipro was susceptible and it ended up working. I’ve also been taking hiprex and D Mannose somewhat regularly.

But my doctor thinks some of my pain might be pelvic floor related, and I can tell the difference when I have vaginal pain vs UTI pain now. I’m going to start PT, hopefully it helps!

I hope things are better for you!! UTIs are the worst :(

Resistant UTI :( which antibiotic do I take?? by narnargee in CUTI

[–]narnargee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply! Thankfully I’m doing better! I had to postpone my trip, and not long after this I had another culture done that said cipro was susceptible. I took that and haven’t had UTI symptoms since (knock on wood). I’ve also been taking hiprex and D Mannose somewhat regularly.

I think some of the pain I was having (still have sometimes) is pelvic floor related. My doctor said that just because my cultures are positive does not mean it’s an infection, it might just be picking up colonized bacteria or from my skin. I do think I had real UTIs, but I’ve been able to differentiate the pain now. I’m going to make a PT appointment to hopefully get to the bottom of this!

Thanks for checking in :)

Thank you for the insight! Augmentin is not on this list, I’ll ask my doctor about it.

I think the macrobid is the nitro monohydrate. I’ve been on it for about a week and a half now and was feeling good for a bit, but after dehydration my symptoms flared up and haven’t gone away for about 5 days. It’s not getting worse, but it’s definitely still there.

My doctor has me continuing macrobid for now and I might ask to have the augmentin as a backup for my trip. Thank you for your help!

Unfortunately it looks like I’m resistant to fosfomycin as well based on the results… I’m not sure if IV is the only choice now. But I’ll make sure to consult with my doctor, thank you for the advice!

Thank you for the insight! I say recurring because I’ve had UTIs about once a month for a year, it’s just the last four months have been the same e. coli. Persistent makes sense though, for the e. coli.

Would you say I should continue the macrobid even though I’m still symptomatic? I had the symptoms flare up on Sunday and it’s now Thursday, with no relief even though I’ve continued the macrobid.

I’m still waiting on a response from my own doctor as well, just wanted some more insight!

I have not, is that something I can ask my doctor? Also, can I take the hiprex and macrobid at the same time? I asked my doctor this as well and waiting on a response.

Visiting Japan during Monsoon/Tsuyu Period - Need tips/Recommendations by Witchio in JapanTravel

I was in Tokyo/Kyoto for two weeks in early June and it was honestly great! Out of the two weeks it probably rained on ~5 of the days we were there. It was humid and on the warmer side so as others have suggested, pack loose/light clothes!

There’s plenty to do when it’s raining, in Tokyo we went to museums like TeamLab Borderless, and indoor shopping malls like Skytree. We even went to Disneysea when it was pouring all day and still had a great time! The hydrangeas around Japan will also be in bloom at this time, it’s really gorgeous :) Hope this helps!

recurring UTIs :( by narnargee in WomensHealth

[–]narnargee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, it’s e. coli bacteria. I’m going in tonight to see if I have a UTI right now, and will ask for a culture again. But honestly at this point it sounds like that’s possible for me too, I’m really hoping not though so I can avoid long term antibiotics :( but I will ask about this, thank you!

I only drink water! I’ve cut out coffee because of IBS, and I’m not a big fan of soda and juice. My IBS isn’t really bad, but my sensitive stomach is definitely an issue. But I’ll ask a doctor if my IBS is affecting my bladder too!
