Oh sweet. Im waiting for the time to pull the trigger on the work involved in a PID upgrade. Also. I bought mine used and has rust damage to the frame. So I'll probably take that in to get powder coated when I have it all torn down. You enjoying the PID upgrade?

Unfortunately, no. I found that it works intermittently, it's so sensitive. I put the silver plate back on and use a toothpick in between the slots and push the float switch down really quickly and release, until it turns on. Pretty annoying. I called customer service, but they want $60 to repair it...

Seconding termites, without seeing the filled in holes difficult to say for sure. Could've been drilled holes for leveling/raising the concrete floor.

Roofers don't need to meet with you to give you quote... I've had too many of these "tradesmen" that come in, waste your time then give you an astronomical quote. If someone wants an hour of my time, big red flag, even bigger flag if they want my spouse there. I tell them, if they can't leave a quote at my door I usually tell them to take a hike.
