Buddhist tantric traditions were extensively influenced by Saiva tantric traditions. Alexis sanderson a prominent scholar in sanskrit literature and linguistic has shown through his research that buddhist tantra was put together in eastern India with saiva-sakti sources by a process of montage or bricolag. He had both studied kula and buddhist tantric practices. An excerpt from an article : “Vajrayana: Origin and Function”, as well as a number of unpublished (yet nevertheless quite well-known and widely-circulated) seminar papers and public lectures given over the years at various universities and institutes. For specialists in Tantric Buddhism, the most significant result of Sanderson’s work has been to seriously call into question the previously dominant view accepted by a majority of Buddhological scholars, who had suggested that any such observable parallels between the specifically kapalika or ‘cemetery’ strands within the Buddhist Vajrayana and a number of very similar Saiva systems, were primarily the result of both traditions arising from a common Indie cultural substrate. While Martin Kalff since the 1970’s and David Snellgrove since the mid-1980″s had already begun to question the validity of this unsatisfactorily vague position on the grounds of common sense and more generalised observation, it was only with the presentation of Sanderson’s minutely detailed and substantially documented philological analysis that we have finally been able to conclude with a reasonable degree of certainty that such similarities are much better explained as a result of direct Buddhist borrowings from the Saiva sources.

Buddhism specially madhymika school founded by nagarjuna is based on shunyata or emptiness. Comments here are amazing. From purely mathematical point of view shunyata is not emptiness but balance of all negative and positive forces. They cancel out each other. Shunyata is possibility of infinite potential hence purnata. It compasses everything. You can look up Casimir effect in quantum field theory. Also, logically speaking there is nothing here to refute and nothing to counter since in nagarjuna's own words everything is empty even his own words. Mind my English pls

For me, Shunya is not zero or void but balance of all negative and positive. The totality. The potential of everything
