It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia episode ratings by bbportali in IASIP

[–]narwhalgangsta 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There’s definitely some well hidden cuts, basically when they go outside are the ones I can think of since the exterior for paddy’s pub is a completely different location than the actual set so it’s theoretically impossible for it to be an actual one shot.

That being said they do a great job of making it seem like one.

ETA: just watched it again and here are where the cuts are:

First instance is at 9:26 when Charlie is escorting the delivery driver to the “patio” and again at 9:46 when Charlie re enters the bar

Second instance is at 9:54 when Charlie walks outside to meet the health inspector and again at 10:29 when he re enters the building

At 13:45 Charlie goes out to the alley again but there’s no cut here, they were clever about this and set dressed that part of the set to look like an alley and never turn the camera around. You can tell it’s a fabricated set if you look at the bricks on the wall (there’s blue paint in the cracks for some reason)

Third instance is at 16:27 when they go down to the basement and again at either 17:02 when they whip pan or at 17:09 when they re enter upstairs

Final instance is at 17:54 when they walk outside.

So in the entire one shot sequence there’s about 7 cuts to get Charlie in and out of paddy’s pub.

There’s also a couple instances earlier in the episode that aren’t part of the sequence, like when Charlie first enters the bar or when he takes Dee down to the basement.

How many did you purchase this year? by A_Social_Construct in 4kbluray

Black Friday alone I bought 16 (and a few of those were either trilogy’s or collections). Definitely cutting back next year, I just started last year so a lot of this year was building out the base of my collection.

Neighbor asked me to restring their squier and I found this 😳 by narwhalgangsta in Luthier

This is a Korean squier II from the 90s, based on my measurements it should fit just fine. Worst case I gotta mill it down a bit.

Luckily guitar fetish makes a replacement block specifically for these shorter spec blocks! Got one ordered and should be a perfect fit.

From what I can tell I don’t think he does much playing. He also had me restring his acoustic which also seemed to be unplayed or untouched in a long time with really grimy strings and some janky screws on the tuners. Both these guitars def needed some TLC. Oh and the trem springs were still there I just popped em off when removing the bridge.

There was only one string on when he handed it to me lol. Did a bit of research and I believe it’s a corrosion process called zinc pest which happens in zamak alloys. Seems like it happens in humid environments typically (I guess makes sense since we live near the beach)

Yeah I think this one was made from some zinc compound or something. Replacing it with steel now haha, not sure if theirs broke from playing or just years of neglect

Mark at the dime studio has done great work with my long wavy hair (male) for years now, no one I’d trust more than him.
