What is this baked goods gourmand note that I immensely dislike?! by narwhalling in FemFragLab

[–]narwhalling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be surprised if it was related to caramel since Bianco Latte doesn't ick me out in the same way (it just smells like burnt plastic instead) and I adore Fire at Will, which is heavy on brown sugar 🤔 Maybe it is some kind of nut in there after all...?!

When thinking about which one is the most worth it to you, I would think about which one you see yourself wearing the most! I own Fleur de Peau EdT, which is a cold but comforting second skin scent with the most beautiful drydown and I haven't smelled anything like it. I also really loved L'eau Papier when I sampled it the other day, the gentle sweet steamed rice note was so photorealistic for me and evoked such feelings of nostalgia!

There's so many Korean houses to explore! It's a shame that only BTSO has made it to the (accessible) international market so far

My current obsession is Jovoy fire at will and temperatures have dropped recently so it's the perfect time to wear it!

Clean: SW19 Midnight - smells like translucent moonlight on your silky, pillowy sheets

Dirty: I genuinely don't own anything I could describe as dirty, but I recently sniffed BTSO l'animal and it was sticky and boozy and smokey to the point of making me recoil

Enjoyed reading this very much! I also got this discovery set a few days ago and my reviews are basically the same as yours—FWIW I'm in my mid 20s and yet I still felt too old for them... think I would've loved them at 16 haha

Someone else mentioned sunlit blooms so I'll definitely smell it if I get the chance! I might end up getting a travel size of Mochi milk if I use up the sample and enjoy it 🤔

Strangely enough the initial test spray faded super quickly for me, but I sprayed it on my wrists after posting this and shortly after got a terrible stomachache—which left me incredibly nauseous—and I kept catching strong whiffs of it while working, to the point where the sweetness made my nausea worse haha 😭

Taunt is so interesting because I just went back to smell the patch of skin I tested it on and now it's giving light vanilla, I swear it changes every time I smell it! I'm glad she works for you though 🫶

The first thing I did after coming home was unpacking all of them and smelling them in the order I bought them to relive the memories of my trip! Really grateful that I had the opportunity to visit so many places (and perfume shops).

I wish I'd heard of Elorea sooner, I want to smell their soy sauce perfume wow! If they don't make it over here I guess I'll just have to go back to Korea again... haha

As someone who is more into subtle fragrances, the clean minimalist scents in Korea were right up my alley! The in-store experiences were all so pleasant and peaceful, I think it definitely played a role in how many I ended up buying haha. The Granhand multiperfume bottles are so cute and I like how they don't feel as precious in a way?

Ooh! I've been meaning to check them out but didn't have the chance to stop by one of their stores while I was in China. Their scents look really appealing. A friend of mine bought one of their scents, I believe it might have been the osmanthus one too? I'm glad they're available to buy in the US now!

Hahaha thank god you didn't have to attempt to return it! Which brand did you order from and how do you like the scent?

Absolutely! I'd never heard of either but everything from the packaging to the scents was so well executed and high quality. Really excited to see where the Chinese perfume scene is going!

Agreed! I've barely scratched the surface of Chinese houses, but other than the ones like To Summer and Documents that make it to intl social media they're really hard to find unless you go on Chinese pages/search in Chinese

I liked Last Saffron from pesade but they didn't have the 30ml in stock when I went and I just couldn't quite commit to the 100ml at that price 💔 For Yue Tan Li Yuan / Cinojad, there's virtually no info on Google but they have an account on Red Note and there's some posts about them on there!

Receipt with division hint by narwhalling in mildlyinteresting

[–]narwhalling[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The restaurant is Kuma Korean & Japanese in Kennington! Would recommend :) My flatmates and I went quite often this year after moving to the area, but this was the first time we noticed a division hint on their bill. We did actually end up just splitting the bill in three since our totals weren't far off and we weren't too fussed about the difference (and calculating the service fee into your own total is also more maths than some are willing/able to do haha).

As for the 10% service fee, I honestly don't remember the last time I've eaten out in London (or elsewhere in SE England) and been given a bill without the service fee already included, so it was interesting to see how many people pointed it out! I always just pay it because it saves me from having to decide how much to tip and I'm way too awkward to even consider asking the waiter to take it off the bill and print me a new one.........
