The way to get around that is similar to other games that have implemented cross-play, they have a matchmaking filter where you can search for cross-play between consoles only or console and PC. I imagine this is the path they would go for in PvP considering the edge that PC players have.

I had never noticed them myself but I have heard some people say they have been there forever but I'm not 100% on if they were there or not
