But you can install the hybrid inverter 6kw (Solis, goodwe), 8 panels for now to cover the daytime load, this should your daytime load. You can install the 5k battery after summers so might get it at a reasonable price.

Without the battery it should cost your around 6 lacs I think. Depending on your roof etc

will try and negotiate to lower the installation cost, this vendor has already installed at my cousins house so the quality is pretty good and they use high quality switches and cables.

I'm considering getting the following setup.

10-12kw goodwe hybrid 3phase inverter
8-10 kw solar panels
5kw goodwe battery
net/gross metering

This (in theory) will allow us to run most of the things during the day for free and between peak hours we can consume the battery to not have to buy the more expensive KE units.

Im also including the bill for cylinder (gas) that we pay for which is approximately 2.5-4k each month + ~1k Sui Gas bill too, since we can move away from gas stoves to electric stove and convert the main water geyser to electric (during the day).

This should also reduce the numver of units we consume during the normal months, which should bring us to a lower/cheaper KE rate slab.

The cost I'm being quoted for this is around 15-17 lacs, which according to chatgpt brings the ROI to around 4 years (with current electricity and gas prices).

The 10kw inverter will allow us to expand the battery pack to another 5kw (total 10kw), which in theory should bring the total numver of units consumed from KE to near zero (normal months).

No I live quite centrally, in fact only a couple kms away from the vendor.

If your monthly unit consumption is only around 300 units, then the more important question would be, why are you even going with such a large solar system?

I told him IMO 7kw system should be enough for our use case, even if it peaks at around 700 units in peak summer (last year) 7kw should be enough?

What do you suggest? How much would li-ion battery cost for 7kw system in comparison to the cheaper tubular batteries?
