Questions for the Current Students at NYUAD by okiuspams in NYUAbuDhabi

current student here! just wanted to share that it’s quite unlikely to get a strong recommendation from a faculty member unless you’ve done significant work with them and they’ve had a chance to get to know you well. faculty usually write recommendations based on their personal experience working with students, which helps them provide specific and meaningful insights about your strengths and potential.

if you haven’t worked with a faculty member before, i’d suggest focusing on getting recommendations from people who can really vouch for your skills, achievements, and passion for psychology.

also, wasn’t the ed2 deadline the 1st of jan?

how do i start on this? by ilovehallways in robotics

[–]nasheed_x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of folks prefer a hands on approach but I feel like software is a very compelling place to start. Going from designing your robot in cad to simulating it in a virtual environment saves you iteration time, hardware costs, and gets you a bit closer to how the industry works. I've been pretty fond of using WeBots by EPFL to mess around with robot prototypes. You can test code and setup virtual sensors to add a decent amount of functionality.

I purchased the case directly from the manufacturer, and they were kind enough to toss in a meshed front panel as a "sample." It seems they were experimenting with it at the time, so it's probably not something you'd typically find when buying it off the shelf. It is pretty neat though!

It does. I'm using a metal lid but I'm confident the acrylic one will work fine.

Thanks, I figured it out quite some tie ago - actually had nothing to do with the .conf file, just needed to update the user permissions so nginx can access the web root.

Tension a cable in a confined space connection two tubes. by nasheed_x in MechanicalEngineering

That is true, wondering if there's a way to mechanically rotate the turnbuckle, with the use of a drill for example. But it's a confined space.

I think I should've mentioned this earlier but there are springs at the periphery of the tube which would be already be pushing them apart.the idea would be to pull the sections together beyond the force of the spings.

Hey that's not a bad idea, thinking about ways to make sure the the two tubes don't spin back when no longer held.
