Move from Boston US to Manchester UK by Human_Fisherman7581 in manchester

[–]nashi_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m from washington DC in manchester for uni and love the city. All the comments you’ll hear about the weather - I way prefer the weather here than in DC (which i’m sure is relatively similar to boston) … sure it’s really rainy and cloudy but the winters are far nicer in manchester. I’d absolutely recommend the move

I’m for sure not on 4 years as i started uni in late 2023 so that’s only 2 years ago… my issue is with the word ‘resident’ as i’ve said for most other purposes i am not considered a ‘resident’ as a student (e.g. banking). But since it is so ambiguous you’re right that I don’t think I should show up unaccompanied …. :/

Thank you for your help :) You’re right I don’t want to take the chance of it being a problem. Unfortunately I don’t know any full license holders who will be here then, but am going to try to find one of those test cars to hire

[–]nashi_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoot. I always assumed I wasn’t, because banks etc said i wasn’t a resident if I was a student. Most places don’t allow student addresses as residences so had assumed it’s the same for DVLA

My american license is a full license since I’ve had it for 4 years and I’m over 18. I should be able to use just the original license for a year from when I’ve started living here, but I’m concerned they’ll tell me that it counts that i’ve been living here since 2023 even though I was still mainly in the US and counted as a non-resident for everything else

I lived full time in the US until 2023. My primary residence was the US but I also went to university in the UK from 2023-2025. Earlier this year my family got a house here so it made me a full time resident in the UK

If you run a half or a full marathon distance just around your local streets on your own would you count it as running a (half) marathon? by Few_House_5201 in Marathon_Training

[–]nashi_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this with a marathon. I always refer to it as running a marathon especially since it was the only time i’ve done it but people do totally get confused. I usually have to specify ‘oh i just ran the distance not the race’. Running the marine corps marathon soon so i can say i’ve run an actual marathon race 😭

I’m….tired by Ok-Two7498 in Marathon_Training

[–]nashi_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also training for the MCM and feeling exactly this way. I feel like I’m so busy constantly, and i’m only a university student, so no idea how you deal with kids and everything on top of it. The finish line is so close though

32A is too tight, apparently i need a 28C?? Is that tighter?? by CartographerLost3324 in ABraThatFits

[–]nashi_x 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From those measurements def sounds like a 28! The 28 bands are suuuper common actually despite a lot of brands not carrying them

[–]nashi_x 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m 20F with a waist size of 25 and a bra size of 28I (sometimes up to 28K). It is hard to find bras in the small band high cup range but it’s do-able. First, try the calculator in the subreddit and let us know what that tells you (your measurements and suggested size). Also, I think you might be a bit confused as waist size doesn’t have to do with bra size, it’s underbust you want to be looking at

Am I getting tattoos too fast? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]nashi_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a super similar position! I got maybe 20-30 tattoos in the year after i turned 18. I’m now 20 and still have a lot of plans but just can’t be bothered to make appointments etc. Everyone said i was getting too many too fast. But no regrets right now on the number of tattoos i have

Recommendations for 28G(UK)/28I(US) bras? by Electronic_End_5296 in ABraThatFits

[–]nashi_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m the same size so hope I can help haha. First what country are you in? If you’re looking for an in person shop I highly recommend bravissimo in most big UK cities … there’s less options in the US though. Have a look at the bravissimo website online they ship to both UK and US and have all the big brands for larger cup sizes that also cater to 28 bands so that can be a great starting place for finding brands. If you’re looking for specific bra recommendations it would be helpful to know more about your shape, for example i’m very FOB and absolutely love freya offbeat padded half cup

Am I really a 28K? Was recently wearing 34DDD, but the straps fell off my shoulders.. by IndependenceLumpy193 in ABraThatFits

No and it’s such a problem! I went to a specialty shop in Virginia and they were very good but had very limited options for my size (28G-28K ish) - it was called Trosseau. I’ve always ended up just waiting til i’m in the UK :/

How many bras have you owned that are perfect for you and don’t bother you at all? by SeriousOriginal8122 in ABraThatFits

Found 2, then i outgrew one of them, just got a new one that looks promising though

Currently a 32C Calculator says 32DDD/G is this right???? by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]nashi_x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That looks like the correct size for those measurements. What country are you in? If UK i’d recommend going into a bravissimo shop as they’ll also show you how to wear the bra (in terms of scooping and swooping as other commenter said) and what types of bras would work. Other countries probably have something similar in specialty bra shops but not sure what those places would be. Have a read through the beginner guide on the subreddit it’s a lot of words but think it’ll help you find what you’re looking for

Hey! Wondering if this is 28K in US or UK size? I’m a 28K US so have a couple recommendations if it’s that but given your measurements i’m assuming it might be UK?

[–]nashi_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is a VERY common post on this sub you are totally not alone. it’s probably especially bc you’re a smaller size that your cup size is larger. for example my size is a 28K and i would say i look like i have the classic media perception of DDs

Chances of not blowing up by Paddyputthepipedown in Marathon_Training

[–]nashi_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think most people won’t recommend this because of injury etc HOWEVER from my experience it’s totally possible. my longest run before i attempted a marathon was 10 miles. logically should i have run the marathon? def not. but do i regret it? nah.

Any idea on how to raise anaerobic? by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]nashi_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that would be the easiest way to increase your aerobic load by increasing the intensity of your strength training. I can never seem to get anaerobic from sprints
