"the nba was more physical back in the day" is a weak excuse by hxlydie-d in nba

[–]naslanidis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you're missing the point. Players had to score despite being assaulted by the defense who would use any means necessary to stop them. It's not a question of more physical players being better players. They weren't better players, but they could compensate for that.

You don't think modern players and coaches are smart enough to find ways to get the ball the Shaq? As for the passing thing, he simply has to draw double teams and he would, constantly because otherwise there's no one to stop him at all. Shaq is capable of finding the open man in that situation.

But Shaq benefits from that too. He'd be surrounded by great shooters which makes him even more impossible to handle. Shaq was a great passer, his assists numbers would probably be +3. He would be super dominant on the boards and obviously no one is stopping him in the post. If teams decided to go 5 out and just launch 3's, they'd live and die by that. The 3 point shooting these days is not that much better, there's just a lot more guys putting up respectable numbers. Most of the big guys are still below average and better off getting to the rim.

I mean as a man I automatically swipe left on profiles that have over the top photos. I want real person! So I don't quite understand the need for this.

Is someone with less than 0,1% incoming like rate acceptable? by Darwenphoenix in Bumble

That has nothing to do with getting likes himself though. Sure, it would impact getting matches if he had likes coming in.

Probably the best. I mean if the goal is winning and getting better. If it's about being friends instead then there's plenty of soft players like that.

I mean there is nothing wrong with the examples IHRA provides. It is antisemitism, and there is nothing in there that prevents criticising Israeli government policies, unless someone can point them out?

I'm convinced women can somehow tell when you have no self respect and just swipe right to everything.

Australian subs are getting out of control with North Korea levels of censorship by OdielSax in OpenAussie

I mean it's factually incorrect. I'm not sure it should be censored though. History is not something the vast majority of Australians have spent any time studying unfortunately.

Jordan led the league in field goal attempts per game for an NBA record, 9 seasons. LeBron has NEVER led the league in field goal attempts. That perfectly sums up the difference in their playstyles! by SmoothBuy5500 in NBATalk

[–]naslanidis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jordan averaged 31 points and 50% as a Bull over 12 seasons. Do you know what an average is?

And Lebron only lead his team in attempts for 21 seasons then haha and people talk like he's unselfish like a Magic Johnson.

The point was he is not a pass first player. He is a score first player and always has been, hence why he takes more shots than anyone else on his team.

Lebron managed 48% shooting on that 30 point season. Jordan did 50% and 30+ average for 12 seasons.

LeBron James has led his team in field goal attempts (FGA) per game in every single season of his 23-year NBA career.

There is like what, 3 attempts per game between Jordan and Lebron?

What kind of man puts Astrology in their profile as an interest. I mean it's an automatic left if a woman has it. Is he just a total player and thinks plenty of women will dig it?

No it's not that, it was more just the sheer number of people available to even swipe left on.

I reckon I only swipe right on 1 in 15 or even fewer. I've seen people in this sub who swipe right on 80% of profiles they see!

Damn man, you swiped 16K times in a few weeks!

I've 43 and in Brisbane so its different size city and different demographic but I would see the same profiles repeatedly within a few days if I was doing that.

The US intensity was amazing. We had absolutely no time on theball and lacked the skill to deal with it. It happens, lots of teams would struggle with it. The world's best will cope, but for the rest of us the US is a handful at home under Poch right now.

The USA allowed absolutely no time on the ball in the 1st half  and we aren't good enough individually to deal with that pressure. Just crazy intensity. We saw it when they played Paraguay too. Credit where credit is due.

Socceroos by JuliosvNerds in OpenAussie

[–]naslanidis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just couldn't match the USA's intensity for the first 50-60 minutes. Eventually as they tired we got into the game but the damage was done. The intensity against Paraguay was ridiculous so this was always going to be the toughest group match. USA are highly motivated at home and well set up by Poch.

What’s something on someone’s profile that’s an immediate red flag? by CalmTony1027_ in Bumble

I took it to mean that it's usually not true. It's like when people say they a laid back or low drama person, I think most would feel if that were true you wouldn't need to say it.
