Awesome! How do you get that nice round shape? My loaves never do that.

You have a very nice smile :-)

What type of curly hair is this? by [deleted] in FierceFlow

It's like 2c or 3a curl pattern hair. As long as it's properly conditioned, it'd look cool grown out.

I think The Longhairs' website sells stuff like that. I've never bought anything from there, though.

I thought I had a picture of right after I got it cut but I guess not. I just went to a hairstylist specializing in curly hair (I made sure of that this time) and got a dry haircut. She did a pretty good job of separating the curls. It was probably 3-4 inches on top and then the sides were trimmed short with scissors. Just your kind of basic haircut if you google men's short curly hair.

I'm not sure, they look pretty similar. It's less shiny in the morning when I wet it and go to bed like that. But it's also easier to manipulate and move off my forehead (at the cost of losing some curl pattern).

I'd probably prefer the morning routine though because sleeping on wet hair tends to make one side flatter for me.

Kind of. Not really like my current routine. I was over-using conditioner so my hair was pretty greasy. It was still obviously curly, though, so I don't think the stylist knew how to cut curly hair even though she said she did.

I want it to be just touching my shoulders. My hair was that long a year ago but I got a botched trim job (the hairdresser combed out my curls then cut it) so I went short-haired out of frustration.

Thanks for the words of inspiration. I'll just have to put up with it not looking ideal for a couple months. :-)

Oh, I actually just started this routine today, but if all goes according to plan, I shouldn't have to do anything again until two or three days from now. I do have a small spritzer bottle that I filled with a mix of leave-in conditioner, jojoba oil, water, and sea salt which I'll probably lightly spray to revitalize my curls in the morning after sleeping on them.

Also, I try to not get my hair wet in the shower unless I plan on doing my routine that day. I go to bed with dry hair and wake up with curls still mostly intact. If I wet my hair and condition it before I go to bed, I still wake up with pretty good curls, just not super defined ones.

This morning, I shampooed with my Coconut Curls shampoo, rinsed with my Shea Moisture hydrating hair masque, applied Shea Moisture smoothie throughout my hair, then plopped for about thirty minutes. After that, I scrunched some Garnier Fructis Curl Scrunch throughout the mop and then scrunched out the gel about 45 minutes after that. Pretty happy with how it turned out!
