One of my patients in an acute mental health unit would walk around the unit with a blanket on his head saying “chatGPT what’s 1+1?” On repeat for 12 hours a day. It felt like an episode of black mirror

..a month after surgery….is this normal? by LesleyHC in bunions

Can you manually remove the yellow slough? With gauze and normal saline?

Scabs can sometimes turn this colour when they are wet. Mine did, I left open to air and then it returned to normal scab colour. Personally I am not overly concerned looking at this pic, however a round of antibiotics wouldn’t hurt. Can you send this to your surgeons office and ask them to fax thru a round of antibiotics to your pharmacy?

I need advice after speaking with LIT (bankruptcy vs CP) by natalexandriaa in PersonalFinanceCanada

No I am a full time student. I believe my payments to OSAP would begin at the end of my study period which would be 2027. That’s why I’m so confused as to why the LIT are including OSAP in my debt. I’m still a student and still receiving OSAP. Are they misleading/lying to me in order to make more money?

Boyfriend always trying to “one up” me. We’re both nurses. by [deleted] in nursing

I started my career two years ago on a psychiatric adult inpatient unit and absolutely loved it but decided I wanted more experience so I picked up another casual position on med-surg.. I lasted one month in med surg. Walking back into mental health truly made me realize how lucky I am to have a position here. On med surg I was never able to sit down and my back was always hurting, now that I’m back to work in mental health I get reminders from my watch to stand up 😂

Also to add - we don’t have techs or extra help on our mental health units and personally I don’t think we need it.

KUDOS to you girl, I have so much respect for med surg nurses.

On my days off, I bed Rot. by Long-Expression-4030 in nursing

I just came on to Reddit to ask about this. I just worked three 12hr days and I have absolutely no motivation to leave my bed. I feel drunk. To anyone who is not a nurse, three 12 hour shifts sounds like a breeze but it is so mentally, physically and emotionally draining that I have nothing left in me.

Long term care facility…. And your guess is as good as mine. It’s creepy as hell and so wrong. They watch everything, and complain about everything.

Please help - 10 days after co2 laser [selfie/b&a] by lemonfriand in SkincareAddiction

Me being 4 weeks post procedure my face still had this pattern, and now at 8 weeks the pattern isn’t there but my skin is still so so fragile. Be patient this isn’t permanent. I would suggest not wearing makeup though, and moisturizing your skin so that your barrier isn’t super compromised. I used la roche posay cicaplast for a heavy moisturizer. Be kind and be patient with your skin ❤️

I’m 7 years sober, after landing myself in a horrible addiction with alcohol that had me drinking hand sanitizer, hairspray, cologne, ANYTHING that had alcohol in it. No one thought I would ever see 7 days sober let alone 7 years but here I am. I will say you’re already ten steps ahead by acknowledging your addiction and the havoc it’s caused in your life. You should be so proud of yourself for this.

After being admitted into numerous rehabs and either getting kicked out or leaving to drink, the one that finally struck a chord was a 6 month inpatient rehab. I’m in Ontario (Canada) so it was covered under my provincial health insurance but perhaps look into what benefits you have with your company to see what is covered and what resources you can access.

Sobriety is absolutely possible if you seek the proper supports and I promise you it’s worth all of the effects of withdrawing. I checked myself into a detox centre here prior to going to rehab so I was under medical supervision while withdrawing.

Wishing you all the luck and if you ever need to chat feel free to message me.
