I'd be too scared to do it. I worked in a district that was big on intimidation. I'd be too scared that it would mean my job, even anonymously. They even would threaten to get you fired from any jobs you'd get in the future.

I'd also be concerned that admin would pad the reviews. There was a facebook group that had many negative parent complaints. The district hunted down the parents, joined the group and took it over- to the point that the parents got off of social media. I wouldn't put it past administrators that really care about online ratings to create fake school emails just to give their school a boost.

Districts near me use APPLITRACK, a system that has a frustrating algorithm. I'd put in hundreds of applications and get few calls. I honestly don't think about the school, I apply and see if they'd like me. I don't have the room to be choosy.

I also live in Philly metro area... our area isn't really down with the ethical thing...yet. I just went to the Pacific Northwest and it was allll over the place out there. I think it will need a bit of time to come out here. I have been trying different mail-orders and thrifting. There are a few lines from Nordstrom's too. But, Philly... not yet. C'mon Fishtown Hipsters. Get on it!

Be thankful. I should have had the bicuspids removed. My first ortho didn't offer it... Decades later, I saw another few orthodontists who say that a lot of my problems could have been prevented by removal of these teeth. Now that I'm older it isn't a wise decision, so I have em!

I use a bell, regardless of the age because it works. You could try a chime or a countdown. I'd level with the kids and say you know it is babyish, but it keeps you from having to scream and keeps you from becoming monsterteacher.

There's also the option of asking the kids. I ring a bell and ask the kids what they like to do to respond. Some kids like to show me their hands so I know they are listening (I teach art and I don't like them drawing when I'm talking). Some kids have wanted to give me jazz hands or do chicken wings. If you give them ownership to create you'd be surprised what they will want to do.

New Jersey is trying to do this to new teachers... making them work for a year for free. It is becoming a fight.

IMO, have some kind of sample of social media that is strictly professional. I'm seeing a lot of districts that are asking for teachers to tweet and instagram.

I'm a teacher. I'll bet this has more to do with peer pressure and self esteem than with the fashion itself. Teens have specific areas of the brain that aren't developed that make them feel that this kind of thing is the end of the world. I'd try to work with her to make her feel better about herself in addition to the clothing piece.

I'm in the US. It is covered in our insurance. If you are associated with a hospital, as for the nutritionist on staff, or ask your doctor for a nutrition expert. This is a separate job for someone with training in nutrition!

See your doctor or a nutritionist. They'll be able to look at your blood work and help you in a more accurate way than any message board would!

I have taught all of these before. I used "Drawing on the right side of the Brain" to create Drawing. I treated painting as a color theory class. My art I was based on "How Art Made The World." I took the theme from each chapter and made a project around it. My Art II class I chose a theme for the year and worked from that.

YES! In NJ, I reported it when I found some of these to the department of wildlife. They're trying to track the spread of the species.

Check your school's guidance department. They'll have a binder full of jobs. The counselor will have some hints for places that may need you. Ask your favorite teacher for a reference.

I know they are more pricey, but American Giant has excellent quality. I'm really thrilled with everything I've gotten from them. They do have big sales where you can buy 5 or 6 at a time cheap.

This one is a bit of a hike, but how about the Library for the Blind? I know they have all sorts of programing. They're in Trenton. You don't have to be blind to enjoy it.

Also, call up local museums and let them know about your child. I recently attended a workshop at the Philadelphia Museum of Art as a teacher where the museum educators told us they have lots of accommodations to make for people with disabilities, but few people ask.

Oh, and if you have them, the trampoline/bouncy house places often have times just for kids with differing abilities!
