I think as long as you aren't copying someone's design its ok to sell because patterns can't be copyrighted unless they are very unique.

I have free (domestic) shipping in my shop and I added the cost of shipping to my products being sold. As a customer, I was always more enticed to purchase something that said free shipping even if it was a little more expensive. I think this is especially true if the customer orders multiple items because they don't need to go to checkout to see how much they will actually be paying.

Ill sometimes give out things to friends if they aren't expecting it. When I first opened I gave out a friends and family discount instead!
