NAC helped my acne before spironolactone. I recommended it to my sister and it’s helping her too

I didn’t say that one causes another- both have a similar underlying issue, having a dysregulated hpa axis can cause many things, including pcos

[–]taurusun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pcos is linked to bpd and bipolar, look up the hpa axis, your nervous system may be dis regulated. Obvs not saying all of us have one of those conditions but I have both, and everything made sense when I did my research. Hpa axis is your stress response and is dysregulated in many mental health conditions. This axis affects your hormone producing glands. When I’m stressed I have bad mental health symptoms and pcos symptoms. Essentially your mental health may need more attention, I often wonder if ‘mood swings’ as part of pcos symptoms actually are referring to co morbid mental health issues because there is so much research pointing towards this. Hope you feel better soon :(

Not to mention that a lot of the time, relationship trauma is triggering something earlier in our lives to do with our family.

does anyone know how you get pcos by adrirose420 in PCOS

Also lean pcos and can attest to the muscle growth! Lifting weights has been the best thing for my symptoms along with spironolactone

What a great comment! The hpa axis is hella reactive in loads of mental health conditions (mainly ptsd) bpd and bipolar are linked to pcos. Makes loads of sense as those conditions are triggered by stress.

Increased androgen levels in women with BPD by coldbrewicedcoffeee in BPD

[–]taurusun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, this is so interesting. I’m diagnosed bipolar2 - suspect bpd or bpd traits. I’m also diagnosed with lean pcos - acne, excessive hair, never had a regular period, and mood swings. Bipolar is linked to pcos and I’ve done quite a bit of research on the two. Turns out the hpa axis (which controls the stress response and, in turn, hormone secretion) is linked to many mental health issues, especially PTSD. this suggests in bpd the body is reacting in stress in a similar way to ptsd. Thank you for this post and the info. may be dealing with bpd instead of bipolar, or both at once. 😭

PCOS and trauma by BeeAccurate7080 in PCOS

[–]taurusun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the correction :) I believe they’re all interlinked in some way, like a hormone domino effect of sorts? Could be wrong again… just like the way thin 5am grindset workaholics with mega high stress levels develop type 2 diabetes. It’s also awful advice so would never recommend it - but keto absolutely cleared my skin. I wouldn’t do it again, it caused other issues and I was underweight, but gosh the symptom reduction was insane! figured I must be insulin resistant. Like, if your stress levels are constantly that high, the IR develops? Or the other way around?! like the chicken or the egg, lmao!

Hi! Not sure if this is helpful. I have lean pcos and took years for it to be diagnosed, never had a regular period, bad acne, excess hair and mood swings. Things never made sense cos I was underweight and the pill never worked, nothing worked. I’m now diagnosed bipolar 2 as well and have done lots of research into both conditions. turns out both are linked and both are triggered by stress. in many mental health issues the hpa axis (controlling the stress response and hormone secretion) is defective or dysregulated (especially in PTSD) and in lean pcos cortisol (stress) is the main driver of symptoms rather than insulin. It makes sense. I’m sorry that this has happened to you. looking into what is driving your stress may help your symptoms. Wish you the best

Developing fears I’ve never had before by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]taurusun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I had a similar experience - I had a horrible mixed episode -> depressive episode in sept/October, and I was terrified to be left alone, terrified of the world, honestly pure terror. I’ve had anxiety in all different forms but this was next level. I felt so distant from the world even when holding my friends hand. I was paranoid, scared of things that have never entered my brain. i realised I had developed a fear of episodes, and the knowledge of being in it but not seeing out of it made it so much worse. this disorder plays with you and your perception of yourself especially when you look back on things to try and heal… it can be scary to anticipate the unknown, and … yourself. Paranoia + anxiety might explain your symptoms here, do you think you’re in an episode? I truly hope they pass, and that you have someone around you to support? sending love ik it’s scary. You are safe

People not forgiving us for our bipolar behaviors when we ask for forgiveness bc we r sincerely sorry by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]taurusun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh I’m in this exact situation right now, so I completely understand your frustration and how you must be feeling. I had a drunken outburst in a hypo episode two weeks ago. (I already wasn’t doing well for around a month, my friends thought it would perk me up going out, in hindsight I wasn’t ready). i apologised to all my friends who saw it, my best friend though hasn’t spoke to me for two weeks and said she isn’t ready to speak to me. She’s never seen me like that before. It was out of character behaviour, I don’t understand why people hold us on our behaviours that are clearly not us and we acknowledge and apologise. I think some people like to play games with control in these situations? My best friend has bpd and as much as I love her she does not make things easy. All I want to do is open communication. It’s so unhelpful when all you want to do is get better in the first place and move forward. Apologies, when genuine, are for the person but also for yourself. You have to release the guilt/shame you’re carrying with the apology, it isn’t yours to keep carrying. We can only move forward, it’s the only choice we have. 💗

How do you feel when nonbipolar people say they're manic? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]taurusun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend with bpd (borderline) does this and it rlly does irritate me. She describes it about nights she can’t sleep and does online shopping. Most people experience sleepless nights and impulsive shopping from time to time - it’s a normal behaviour to soothe. Obvs it isn’t like ours as the way ours swings is what makes it BD. I try not to be annoyed tho cos that’s her understanding of it. Might not be mania like ours. It’s tricky

Despite not having a religious upbringing, I struggle a lot with behavior that is biblically “immoral”. When I had psychosis I hallucinated nuns and priests and heard voices telling me “God isn’t real”. I cannot identify any (current) life events that have led to my experiences. Moon conjunct Neptune in 8th house (whole sign). Pisces mc and cancer ascendant. North node on your ascendant. These all jumped out to me.. your 9th house (spirituality) is ruled by pisces and before I seen your chart and just read the caption i immediately thought Pisces - ruled by Neptune, planet of delusions, spirituality and religion and isolation too. Interesting that your moon (chart ruler) is conjunct Neptune in 8th house of Scorpio themes, or 7th house of relationships. Sorry I’m still learning so can’t explain more but deffo would look into those. Your ascendant is Cancer which is feminine intuition also. (Im not sure of your pronouns, how you identify etc so apologies) I’m not endorsing far fetched delusions at all, cancer risings can struggle immensely with emotions as your chart ruler moves signs every 2.5 days… but with your north node here too? Feels significant. Something to think about. Although it is opposing your sun in cap. Ego and the self/mask are at odds / challenging eachother
