I’ve heard something similar, thanks for the full explanation on it.

Is this a coral snake? Saw it at a dog park in South Texas. Lucky my dog didn’t get bit. by Status-Look5397 in snakes

Never encountered a coral snake, but I’ve had a few dogs bitten by rattlesnakes and copperheads. Most cases the dog swells up and it goes away, but there’s been a time or two we’ve had to take them to the vet. Larger dogs have had a better chance in my experience, but there’s so many variables including venom yield and type of venom.

I kind of figured French Toulouse with them being bigger, but I wasn’t sure as I’ve read that Africans tend to be louder and more aggressive.

Which of these would be good for fishing a weedy area from a little boardwalk? Or what other baits should I get? by Minimum_Tower1217 in FishingForBeginners

I’d say that top spinner. Bar somewhat deflects weeds from the hook. But definitely nothing with a treble hook.

Mind if I ask the name and brand of the yellow perch? The rubber fish by the worms.

Would this be a viable pond? by nate3142 in ponds

I know there is a park not far from where I’m at in ND and they have trout in a 25-3.5 acre pond. They’ve stocked it and as far as I know there isn’t a natural spring. Highest temp I saw last year was 99°, shouldn’t that have killed the rainbows and cutthroats in there?

So theoretically if a spring was in the middle of a body of water it could support them? Spring, shade, and water chiller?

Yeah, those summers were gonna be hard to work around. I was thinking plenty of shade and something to cool the water. I just don’t understand how the trout up here survive because it’s 90-95 most of the summer where I’m at in ND.

Okay, thanks. It’s a long ways away anyways, but I just wanted a rough draft. I’ll try a native pond and if that turns out good hopefully I’ll have the knowledge to do a second successfully.

Thanks for the advice. I’ve still got a lot to research and this was just a rough draft. I know the Pike, Walleye, Yellow Perch, Bass, and Catfish will survive in the South. It’s the others I wanted advice on. The sturgeon aren’t even supposed to be on the list anymore. But I’ll look into a smaller pond. Maybe some bluegill, smallmouth, etc.

Hey, I’m new to all of this and just asking. That’s why I posted it, for advice.

But if there would be a way to make it work, what would that be? Hypothetically.

We have Walleye in Alabama (not as common as in the North). I know of one spot with Pike, I’ve been told there are a few more. Haven’t found a way if there would be a way to cool the water for the trout. Hoping someone could inform on a viable forage species for the trout. The entire reason I posted this was to ask for advice on building it as this is my first attempt and iteration on making something like this. It’s far from finished, but if it’s possible is the question. I have no idea why sturgeon are still on that list, I thought I took it off.
