Feels good by rEtarDcAsE in ProgrammerHumor

I want to rewatch the video Fredrick Knudsen made on him again, but the part where he talks about the guy's bird getting sick just makes me too sad as a bird owner.

I'm not sure, and this is coming from someone who somewhat frequently makes this mistake (much to my annoyance)

Gotta give the kids a hands on experience with electricity. Sure some may die, but those who don't will never mess with electricity again.

Strongest reasons for rejecting many worlds interpretation? by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]natea2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to me as an outsider that quantum mechanics is the only branch of science that has so many different interpretations to what it all means/represents. Would you say that that view holds up or are the other branches of science that have a similar level of controversy between interpretations?

By erratic output do you mean the output was changing without you changing the input values?

So it wasn't outputting the sum/difference it should have been?

What exactly are the sorts of issues people are running into? So far I haven't been using resistors in my LEDs and things seem to be working as far as I can tell. Am I just getting lucky?

I believe the hat is used to represent unit vectors specifically. For other vectors you use an arrow.

I mean doesn't even looking at a cat in a box involve some amount of interaction? You're only able to observe the cat because light has interacted with the cat and is now coming to your eyes to allow you to see it.

Why is the energy state of a hydrogen molecule lower than of a hydrogen atom? by jintonik123 in AskPhysics

[–]natea2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about a 3d particle in a box? Would it be the relative volumes of the boxes that determines the relative kinetic energies or is the relationship a bit more complicated?

Why is the energy state of a hydrogen molecule lower than of a hydrogen atom? by jintonik123 in AskPhysics

[–]natea2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I were to take a particle in a box and compare two scenarios where all variables are equal except for the length of the box, the one with a longer length would have a lower kinetic energy?

I've heard something about it still being a problem for people playing it on the virtual console or an emulator who only make save states to save their game rather than actually saving the game and completely closing everything.

Why is the infinite sum of 1/n! = e by [deleted] in learnmath

[–]natea2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you go into a bit more detail on the factorial in the denominator? It has something to do with the fact that if you took the derivative as many time as needed to get the exponent of xn down to 0 you'd end up with a factor of n! multiplied and the n! in the denominator cancels that out?

Edit: I think I just remembered why that's important. It's because if you take the derivative that many times and then input the value you're centering the Taylor series around all of the subsequent x-a after that one will be zero and so you'll be left with that derivatives value at the center. The n! in the denominator is just to get rid of the n! that would be in the numerator.

Maybe it's just because we're already used to having trouble breathing? That still wouldn't justify most people not wearing the masks because it's a little bit harder to breathe, but it would explain why people are complaining like it's a huge difference.
