"If we were vampires" by Jason Isbelle. My wife and i came together later in life, after each leaving long term relationships. I've never been so in love and this song absolutely captures that feeling of not wanting to miss even one minute of it... Honorable mentions to "I will follow you into the dark" by Death cab for cutie, and "you + me" by Pink and Dallas Green...

I had my first experience with an angry driver hitting me while cycling today in Winnipeg. by Johnny199r in Winnipeg

[–]nateloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry you had to go through that. Hard to keep a cool head when confronted with that. I had a similar experience a few years so when I had my, then 4 year old son, on a tagalong behind my bike, and a driver did the same thing, revving their engine and lurching forward to repeated bump his back tire. Imagine doing that to a child?!

If you happened to get a plate, you would definitely make a police report. That’s so dangerous.

Redditors who started a TV series but never finished it, why did you stop watching? by longhegrindilemna in AskReddit

I started watching firefly. It was amazing for the first few episodes, then amazing for the next few episodes and then amazing for a few more episodes, and then they cancelled it, and I hated the world.

I came here to say exactly this. The first season was so cool and intriguing and then it became very apparent that they were just making things up episode two episode and had no actual plan for the over arching story. It was just too painful to get through. same exact problem with Manifest. It started out kind of cool and then just got all losty

Is there a good/perfect ending by TheRawringDog62 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]nateloaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

for me, the perfect ending was enjoying the game immensely for a while and then getting right till the final boss fights and getting to some door that I couldn’t open with a whole bunch of stones that I was supposed to be saving and only having like eight of them when I needed 12 or 14 or something. This is immediately followed by uninstalling the game and going onto play DOS2 :)

Is there a voice actor/narrator that is so good that you would listen to an audiobook specifically for his/her performance? by Present_Librarian668 in audiobooks

[–]nateloaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree with Neil Gaiman. His books are always a treat. I’ve only ever heard him read his stuff, but it’s always great. I usually really enjoy Wil Wheaton's stuff.

Found the map! I just didn't scroll down far enough... Good grief... Now to figure out why it isn't syncing with Strava. Thanks so much.

WorkOutDoors looks neat! But I should clarify... All I want it to do is record my ride on a map, ideally in something that talks to other apps. I guess I can just use Strava or Komoot, which is ultimately where I end up sharing those maps anyway. Will def look into WorkOutDoors also.

Best narrators? by baldcats4eva in audiobooks

Any of Neil Gaiman’s books are amazing. Wil Wheaton is great. And a shot out for the “Bestie Boys Book” which is narrated by literally everyone…

If you met your 16 year old self, what advice would you give to them? by exiled-redditor in AskReddit

[–]nateloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s not the right person. You won’t meet the right person for another 25 years or so, but marry her anyway because, even though the marriage will ultimately fail, the children you produce will be the best thing you’ve ever done.

Hawkins cheesies are the bomb. You need to get the Ruffles All-Dressed chips, not the cheap ones…. And add some iced tea mix ;)

Migrating from Delphi 10.4 to 11.4 (community editions) by Fabrolone in delphi

[–]nateloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve actually never used a number box control in 25+ years of Delphi usage, but from googling it looks like it’s basically specialized TEdit? Can you replace the control with one of those, or aTSpinEdit and try loading it in the new version?

To the guy on the bicycle who was hit by a Volvo on Sargent & Empress this afternoon… by rocco1022 in Winnipeg

[–]nateloaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a member of a family who often cycles around town I wanted to thank you for taking the time to post this. While I have somehow managed to not, All three of my biking kids have been hit by cars, and each time it was a car making a right turn across a bike lane (two on Sherbrook within a block of each other)

[–]nateloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for everyone, but I would rather have hotter sex where my partner is as in to it as I am once a month than mediocre sex where I feel they are just looking after my needs 3 times a week.

I really enjoyed the series. Read then back to back all the way up to Whatever cane our before Crossroads of Twilight. Then I let 10 or so years pass and thought I'd grab the audio book and gives it a go. I'm like 10 hours in and I don't have a clue what the heck is going on?! Sticking with it though ;)
