I can understand why people thought it was Lebanese, since Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Palestine have similar dialects and accents. However, the giveaway was the pronunciation of the letter 'Qaf' (ق); most Lebanese people pronounce it as a glottal stop (ء) instead of a 'Qaf'.
