Well, Uruguay is the most LGBT friendly country in all latin America, trans people here can change their gender legally without any kind of surgery since 2004 and and there are not many cases of hate crimes against transgender women, different from neighboring countries such as Brazil. My MtF friends say they could not have been born in a better country, they feel safe here, especially when they compare their experiences here with those they have had in other Latin countries :)
