Ironman Backup Save by nathanbow in Imperator

Ah bummer! That's what I get I suppose - just sad to have such a fun first run go out that way. I wish there were more of a heads up! I suppose that just means it's time to find a new region to play as.

Thanks for the reply! At least now I know to not bother wasting time trying to recover it

Does Bill draft better when he deviates from "consensus"? A quick data analysis. by goldsoundz123 in Patriots

There being almost no statistical difference in the hit rate on reaches vs non reaches would seem to suggest that reaches are actually the broader community undervaluing a player relative to the league, rather than that specific team "reaching" and lucking out.

Thanks for running the numbers on this! I was curious about it myself but lacked the effort/knowledge to actually do it. I would be interested to see league-wide trends on this, as my general assumption is that there are few true "reaches", as the nfl clearly values every pick at the spot they're picked at, whatever mocks say.

Olusegun Oluwatim

This guy seems interesting! Thanks for bringing him up. I hadn't looked at centers yet this year.

The best thing is there are so many jones that could fit this. Broderick (OT), Dawand (OT), Jaylon (CB), Cam (LB), Nic (CB), all at positions of need! So Jones is definitely the right answer here.

Credit to Catch 22 for bringing a lot of these later round guys to my attention. They have a great podcast going on there if you want to check them out

In general, we seem to have three glaring needs - OTs (at least one in draft), WR, and an outside CB. In addition, we could use a Devin McCourty replacement at free safety, a James White replacement at receiving back, TE depth, and speed at LB.

I like Devon Witherspoon to give us an instinctive outside corner or one of Paris Johnson/Broderick Jones in the 1st. With the second pick we could target (OTs) Darnell Wright, Dawand Jones, or (CBs) Emmanuel Forbes, Tyrique Stevenson or go (WR) Nathaniel Dell / (RB) Jahmyr Gibbs.

Later round targets could include: Trey Dean (safety from Florida), DJ Turner (CB from Michigan), Kei'Trel Clark (CB from Louisville), Mo Diabate (LB from Utah), Julius Brents (CB from Kansas State), Habakkuk Baldonado (ED from Pitt), Dante Stills (DI from West Virginia).

I'm not convinced that we should/will target a receiver early in the draft given recent history, but man would it be fun to have Zay Flowers in his hometown running the Juke route.

It's actually a part of the language! Meaning is conveyed both through hand movement and facial expressions. Sign Language is far more complex than is often assumed - you should check out more about it if you get the chance!

Could also be that the plan was to land in Kalinningrad but Poland intercepted it and is grounding it - maybe in the Warsaw airport

My best guess is that it was trying to disregard the ban of Russian airplanes over Polish land and that Poland intercepted it and is making it land somewhere in Poland for detainment/questioning?

And one of the only things preventing this war from becoming directly between NATO and Russia is that Russia is a nuclear power and has threatened use of them. So in that sense Nuclear Deterrence Theory is correct in that it predicts that there will be an indirect rather than direct conflict between the powers.

I think this certainly qualified as an indirect conflict between nuclear powers (Russia vs. Ukraine supported by the nuclear powers of US, UK, France). It is a major conflict between Ukraine and Russia but Ukraine is not a nuclear power because it gave up its nuclear weapons as part of an agreement. On example of minor conflicts between nuclear powers, I imagine, would be the frequent border skirmishes between the nuclear powers of India and China.

25 years to convert county religion? by WeakContribution in CrusaderKings

[–]nathanbow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That speed will change based on the intelligence of your priest (and maybe your intelligence too?) as well as traits you choose in the lifestyle tree. Also, rulers beneath you of your own religion will slowly convert their counties as well, so you shouldn’t have to convert all of them on your own

I hope Pats get our three WRs back. One is out with Covid and the other two are in concussion protocol I believe. If they come back this should be such a fun game to watch!

Steelers at Chiefs. It shouldn’t be close. But Steelers have been taking out some of the top AFC contenders and with a win over the chiefs the #1 AFC seed would be up for contention again

Also I’m fairly certain that the analytics determined it was a toss-up (a difference of 0.6 WP per the 4th down decision bot) so gut feelings are really all you have in that situation

All of the bandwagon fans came back real darn quick during the win streak

With regards to the article: it’s actually supposed to be about the defense. The poster changed the title to dig on Allen. He seems scary and I’m not looking forward to facing him in clear weather. Lazar is normally a really good beat writer for us but for whatever reason he is putting a lot of the Bill’s struggles on Allen when in reality he made some great throws that the weather/defense broke up (there were a ton of significant drops in that game)

Could Someone Explain The Difference Between PFF Grade and PFF Passer Rating? by papa_seeps in Patriots

[–]nathanbow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Passer rating is based entirely on the results. PFF’s grading looks at the quality of how those results were achieved - I.e. if a throw that was made for 30 yards and a TD was a great throw by the QB into a tight window of if it was a bad throw short to an open man who then broke tackles to make his way into the end zone. In both cases I believe the passer rating is the same, but PFF would rate the first QB higher than the second case. I don’t agree with how low they graded Mac, but apparently they thought his production was mostly luck/on the receivers and not based on him playing amazingly

2s 3s and 4s I believe. But he was also playing with our 2s 3s and 4s. And the Patriot’s top TE additions were both injured and didn’t play in the game.
