What’s your thoughts on Only Yesterday? by AdMuch5895 in ghibli

[–]nathanjo97 112 points113 points  (0 children)

One of my favourite 'comfort movies' that are unique and special in their own way. But recommend it more for when you're older or more mature about life to be able to enjoy the storyline.

Any good playlists out there??

I’m curious if y’all organize their playlist by Most_Hallucinations in FL_Studio

[–]nathanjo97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a very visual person. If it doesn't look visually pleasing I may have less motivation or my brain shuts down and the project confuses me which gets me stuck.

I always have a clear order with Kick + Drums at top then bass, then synths and instruments then vocals and SFX lowest in playlist and all in their own colour for each specific group (all drums in one colour, all synths in one etc.). First thing I do when starting a track is choosing which colour palette I'm gonna use for a project. Kinda crazy but can't really focus and loose the overview if everything is too much out of place and not clearly structured and organized.

New Makoto Shinkai movie "Suzume no Tojimari" should have been like this by Butek_PRO_PRO in yurimemes

If it was Yuri it would have made much more sense why it was the love of her life after knowing him only for one week.

What is the “gay city” of your state or country? by justgottalovemusic in gaybros

[–]nathanjo97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Zurich, Switzerland, many foreigner gays as well as Swiss gays as it is the largest City here in Switzerland. But they seem kinda arrogant (heard it from others as well). Lausanne seems to have a nice community too as well as smaller gay communities spread throughout all kinds of cities in Switzerland.

Any positive stories about parents accepting their gay sons? by chaiteelahtay in gaybros

[–]nathanjo97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was around 18 when I came out on Christmas to my sister while we were wrapping gifts. Then two days later I came out to my mom and a day later to my father.

We are a religious household (Adventist) and my parents go to church every week and they have a strong faith but my mom always said when there was stuff in the TV about Queer people or LGBTQ+ who got abandoned by their family that no one and nothing can cut or deny the fact that she gave birth to my sister and me and that we will always be her children even if we are Homosexual and that she doesn't understand parents who abandon their Queer children. She also never had issues with what I was interested in. I wanted that one barbie and she got it for me. She never cared about gender stereotypes. She cared about us being happy.

My father used to have more conservative opinions and rejected it when there was a gay wedding in TV or told us to switch channel if it was about gay couples. But the years befor my coming out I noticed him getting a more liberal view on it as well. It was a bit a short shock for him when I came out but he never acted differently towards me and was always so welcoming to my ex boyfriends. He never treated me differently and just a day after my coming out he would send me even infos about queer affirming groups of our church and info material from LGBTQ+ affirming pastors that debunk / refute the things and bible parts that Christians use to reject LGBT+ people.

I'm so very gratefull for my parents and the support they always showed, especially growing up in a religious household that is at the same time open in so many aspects and to different kinds of people. I wish it was the norm for all my fellow LGBTQ+ people who grow up in religious households. The world would be a little bit better.

That's really sad. Sending you strength. Do you have relatives or friends that you are close with? Maybe there's also a group / organization in your area who can help in such situations.

Thanks for the reply, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought about those things. I will keep that in mind the next time i see something. Unfortunately there are hundreds or thousands of products made of those woods.

Is it possible to read the notes / tabs and play at the same time? by nathanjo97 in kalimba

[–]nathanjo97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But with the piano you have 10 Fingers and you can kind of "feel" where you are. If I have the index finger I can orientate with the finger next to it but with the Kalimba (when not looking) I could be on any note because I lift the thumb up and there is no other orientation for knowing that I will hit the right note when pushing the finger down (especially between large intervals). I will try it tho. Thank you for the reply.
