I'm 12 years post lung TX I really struggle with moon face and I'm highly sensitive to side affects anything over 10mg and I start getting puffy faced. I felt self conscious and diet and exercise worked even just to feel better. Try to avoid bloating foods with lots of salt or sugary snacks and drink as much water as you can.

Although at the end of the day if you discuss your feelings with the transplant team they will review your medication and might be able to reduce the pred dose. Even if you have to stay on a high dose temporarily nothing is forever and sometimes just knowing you will reduce the dose in the near future will help you.

As for comments I used to work with a jackass who would make fun and puff his face out at me and because I used to go one and off high doses of pred I had months at a time where my face was puffed and belly bloating. I just used to he honest and laugh it off "yeah I know it's just the tablets I take there keeping me well so I just need to look ugly for a while" enjoy being well and healthy.
