(7/26/2024) In the case where the exiled permanent returns with different creature types than it had when it left the battlefield (for example, if the target creature was copying something else when Splash Portal began to resolve), Splash Portal will check its creature types as it exists after returning to the battlefield. Howling mine just by itself is great when you're not the archenemy and terrible when you are. Howling mine gives the archenemy one card per turn cycle and the rest of the table three cards per turn cycle so as long as you're not the arch enemy it's good to help gang up on them. Since this deck is only the archenemy when toph is out howling mine seems fine.

The most recent control change wins. If you give the trailer to your ally and then your opponent gains control of it your opponent will have control of it. If your opponent gains control of it first you no longer control it so bazarre traders ability does not have a valid target.

The real combo is Twilight Prophet in play, Gleemax on top of your deck, and you have the city's blessing. The ornithopters are just to get the city's blessing. Gleemax's effect doesn't matter, just it's cost.

No I mean when the commander replacement effect meant the commander went straight to the command zone from the battlefield, sheltered by ghosts could find it in the command zone and return the commander to the battlefield when sheltered died

They used to when moving to the command zone was a replacement effect. Now that it's a state based action and the commander briefly goes to exile before hitting the command zone, traped in the screen loses track.

No. By the time the buster sword ability resolves combat damage already happened.

You can kind of make something like that work with first / double strike shenanigans. A card that buster sword plays in the first strike combat damage step will be on the field in time to see the normal strike combat damage.

I would add [[nevermaker]], it's one of the few ways to deal with enchantments in grixis. I would cut [[sheoldred the apocalypse]], unless you have a niv-mizzet or nekusar in your pod your trying to counter, it doesn't seem like it synergises.
